DT Day: Lori and Black Friday!

Hi, IHP fans!  It's Lori with today's DT post.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying IHP's Black Friday sale.  If you haven't shopped yet, be sure to check out the latest and greatest in the store. Black Friday is here and runs through Monday!

The holidays are fast approaching and I haven't even begun to think about what I'll do for a holiday card (other than a fun photo insert featuring my Chloe the cutie puppy in her Halloween costume that I'll send to a select few who will appreciate it!).  The beautiful Snowflake Backdrops set from WPlus9 that I used for this card just might end up being the set I use for my card.  The flakes in this set are so pretty!

I really like non-traditional colors for holiday cards, so I stamped the three snowflakes in pale pink pigment ink on a white panel.  The "peace" sentiment was stamped in gray pigment ink.  The image is a trio of banners, but the "peace" one was on the top, so it was super easy to mask off the other words to ink up just the one I wanted.  I scattered a few white sequins around the flakes for a bit of sparkle, then used some Sticky Thumb dimensional dots to layer the stamped panel on a white card base.  The white on white is so clean and elegant!  I'm thinking I just may do a variation on this design for my cards . . .

DT Day: Sarah

Hi IHP fans! Sarah here today with a card unusual for me - it's pretty much one layer! When I saw this print in the Everyday Collection by Avery Elle, I just knew I had to let those rays be the star of the show!

The Finished Frames dies have not left my desk since they came out, I love them! The stamped sentiments from So Happy paired perfectly with the Simply Said: Happy die - cut from turquoise cardstock then covered with a Gold Wink of Stella pen for some sparkle. Avery Elle ink in Kraft was used for the sentiments and I finished with some enamel hearts

Thanks for stopping by, wishing you a happy day!

DT Day: Lindsay

Lindsay with you today, with a colorful card using Wplus9's Dream Believer set and dies.  There are plenty of elements in this set to create a wide variety of designs with.  I used it in a more traditional way for my card here.
I die cut the dream catcher and stamped it in brown ink, popping it up onto my card base.  I then die cut five feathers, stamping those with the coordinating stamp, and adhering them straight to card base.
I finished it off by stamping the cluster of dots in the same colors of ink in a triangle design on the card.  The Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen in clear, was added to the feathers for a bit of shimmer. Thank you for joining me here today!  I hope you are inspired to grab your stamps and dies and make a card!

DT Day: Tracy

Hi everyone! It's Tracy here sharing a fun wintery card I created. I used this cute snowman from Avery Elle and made a shaker card. I just stamped the snowman on a piece of white cardstock, colored him in with Copics, and then put a piece of acetate over him.

I die-cut the snowman shape out of decorative paper from Chickaniddy Crafts and laid it on top of my image using dimensionals. To finish my card off, I added my sentiment from Winnie & Walter stamped on vellum. I cut a wavy snow-drift kind of shape into it. Then added a snowflake wood veener from Lawn Fawn that I dragged through my new canvas ink pad, and a tiny bow of off-white twine.

Guest DT: Kim O'Connell

It's the first of the month and that means a new IHP Guest DT!  This month we welcome Kim O'Connell!

Here's what she has to say about herself and her first creation for us!

"I am a Dementia Program Director at a skilled nursing facility by day and a mad crafter by night.  I have been married for the past 14 years to my husband who tolerates my crafting addiction.  I have an 12 year daughter and 10 year old son and both have inherited the crafty gene.   I also have a  6 year old English yellow lab named Calvin who can often be found right at my feet as I craft.   I have been stamping since 2009 since I innocently went to the craft store and bought a couple of clear stamp sets in the clearance bin to make Easter cards with my kids. Those 2 stamp sets have multiplied like bunnies over the past several years. I would describe my style as clean but not so simple.   I would save my family, my dog, and my copics in a fire.  You can find me at Paper Perfect Designs or my  Paper Perfect Designs Facebook page."
