DT Day: Tracy

Welcome to Design Team Day, where we're featuring new projects from the DT that you will see here only!  So, today we've got a post from Tracy!  She's using some cute Paper Smooches stamps and if you didn't see on our Facebook page, the January release is ready for you!  Have a look!

I couldn't resist this new set from Paper Smooches called We Totally Click. I think the images and sentiments are so fun! I made a clean and simple card using this week's Retro Sketch as inspiration. I dug out my much-loved white pen for the base layer. Then added some cork, twine, and a trio of staples.

I made a little focal point for my image by repeatedly stamping the sentiment and then highlighting one in black. Then popped my pen image up over that. It's a fun card that could work for so many occasions!

We Click Recipe Cardstock: PTI kraft; MFT sweet tooth; corkstock Stamps: Paper Smooches We Totally Click Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Palette L'Amour Red Accessories: Paper Smooches Click Icons die, Inkssentials white pen, Natural Twine string thread, staples, dimensionals

Five Minute Friday: Dog Sympathy

I know there are lots of animal lovers who follow my blog.  So you will understand how hard it is to make a card like this.  Yesterday a good friend of mine had to say good-bye to her sweet 16 year old Weimaraner, Mia.  She was a sweet dog and I am so sad for my friend and her loss.  I whipped together this sympathy card using Market Street Stamps Pawprints On Our Hearts, the new Sweet Shoppe paper (even making a little tag on the collar from one of the hearts in the paper) and some Divine Twine Cotton Candy and ivory double faced satin ribbon.  The pup is colored with Copics and popped up on dimensional dots and stamped with Memento ink (as is the greeting).  CAS and hopefully a comfort to my friend in her time of loss.
Have a lovely weekend and if you've got some furry ones, give them a little extra love this weekend!  Check back next week for some new goodies in the store!  And, if you're a mom, Happy Mother's Day!    ~Kate

DT Challenge: Spectrum Noir markers meet 12x12 Kits

Hello and welcome to this month's DT Challenge!  This month we are spotlighting some 12x12 Collection Kits and our new Spectrum Noir markers.

For my project today I altered a cute little chipboard box that I picked up at the Target Dollar Spot.  (Gosh, I love it there.  Who's with me?  Those little mailboxes!  I still have a stash!  OK, I digress.)  You know I'm a dog lover so I made a cutey little gift for a doggy friend and their stampy momma.  It's filled with some healthy, made int he US doggy cookies, a naturally shed deer antler (my pups favorite chew toy and it's all natural and not dangerous like marrow bones or rawhide) and a doggy stamp set.

I covered all 4 sides with this adorable bone print from Echo Park's mini collection, Woof.  Then I used the new Woofers and Tweeters set from Paper Smooches, stamped with Memento inks and die cut from Nesting Frame 2 (love these dies!) and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers (EB1, EB2 from the Essentials pack, EB8 from Browns and DR1 and DR6 from Reds).  I used our own ATG 1/4" tape (did you know we were carrying ATG tape now?) to adhere the paper to the box and some Sticky Thumb dimensional dots to pop up the focal point tag.  I finished it off with some paw print twill ribbon.  Cute, right?  I sorta like it.  :)

I hope you'll hop along and see what the rest of the team has made.  Here you go:
