    DT Challenge: Inspiration Photo

    ihp0812

Fro this month’s DT Challenge Deb picked out a gorgeous picture as a photo inspiration.  It spotlighted some of the coral/peachy colors that seemed to be so prominent at ihpphotoinspiration CHA this year.

She picked this flower bouquet from this post.  Isn’t it lovely?

For my card I pulled in some of the coral and aqua colors and flowers, of course.  I used the Small Pinwheel Posie die to create my three rolled flowers, using papers from the new Teresa Collins line Tell Your Story.  I stamped the greeting from one of our exclusive stamp lines, Mint Motif’s Simply Sentiments in Palette ink.

I used my Copic G00 marker to color the white satin ribbon.

Be sure to check the rest of the team’s projects here:

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to check back every day.  We’ve got some new arrivals coming in this week that you won’t want to miss!

    A Little Mint Motif Love

Have you checked out the Mint Motif stamps? Kimberly Crawford designs some amazing stamps, doesn't she?! Check out these cards spotted on her blog recently.

This birthday card features her Beyond Borders set and Memento inks.   Love how she created flames by cutting out a small portion of the larger stamp!

Letting the sentiments take center stage is such a fun idea - and it helps make masculine cards, too! On this card, Kimberly featured the set Simply Sentiments.  And can you see that hint of Beyond Borders on the card base?  Perfect!

Make sure you stay tuned tomorrow....we've got a big announcement!

    Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day!  It's Taylor here today, sharing a couple of patriotic cards I spotted on the blogs of the i {heart} papers designers recently.   Deb Felts used the Gourmet Rubber Stamps Happy Independence  appetizer set, paired with Echo Park Dots and Stripes, Ranger distress ink, Shimmer spray , topped it off with some Divine Twine.  Simple and perfect!

Geny Cassady made a great card with her Mint Motif stamps.  She chose School Basics and I've Got Your Number to create the patterned paper using new Memento Dew Drops in Summer Sky and Paris Dusk for the stars.  It's so fun, isn't it?

Before you head outdoors for cookouts and fireworks, be sure to check out the HUGE sale section over in the store.  Close to 400 items are on sale for a limited time...stamps, patterned papers, and embellishments.  Treat yourself!

Last note of "business" - a huge congratulations goes to Leadonna Quick Kimmel!  She's the winner of the $10 gift certificate to celebrate Taylor coming on board as our Social Media Coordinator.  Please contact us for your code!

And remember, however you are celebrating today, stay safe and have fun!

DT Challenge: Happy Camping (Paper Smooches)

ihp0512 Today’s challenge is brought to you by Paper Smooches!  We’re spotlighting the new Kismet set, Happy Camper.  I decided to use the cute little deer and make my first Christmas card of the year!  I used some PB&J chevron paper for the background and then used a Divine Twine bitty bag, wrapped in red twine as the front gift card holder.  I stamped the deer in Memento brown and colored with Copics and then stamped a holiday greeting from Very Merry Sentiments.  Last touch was the paper piece the little red Rudolph nose and add some red Stickles.

      DT Challenge Spotlight Winner: Ashley

Hello!! If you hopped along with our DT Challenge last week, where we spotlighted one of IHP’s exclusive lines, Mint Motif, you know we asked you to join us by choosing a card from the hop to inspire you and then create your own version. We had several great entries (Thank you so much for playing along. We hope to do it more in the future!) but today’s I’m spotlighting Ashley’s card. She was inspired by Lori’s card and even used the Mint Motif School Basics set. She also used some Authentique Celebrate paper.

If you don’t know Ashley, you should spend some time on her blog. She is currently the design team coordinator for Whisker Graphics (Divine Twine) and is on several other teams including Love My Tapes, who makes the fabulous fabric and lace tapes (new CHA goodies arriving from them soon!).

So thank you to everyone who played along. I’d love to hear your suggestions on what sort of challenges you like best and what would get you to play along. Have a great rest of the week!

For my card today I used one of the borders from Beyond Borders, Too, stamped in Memento ink, alternating pink and black. (Tip:  start with your centermost one and work out so your pattern is evenly spaced.)  Then I hand cut a pennant for the greeting from Simply Sentiments.  Then I used from Angel Pink Fireworks to dye my Tim Holtz Trimmings ribbon and added some Zva bling as the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

Introducing Mint Motif: Beyond Borders, Too and Simply Sentiments!

Hello!  I am SO excited to be able to share two new Mint Motif sets with you today!  They are available exclusively at IHP and are only $12 each for a 4”x6” high quality peachy clear photopolymer set.

After our wildly popular, Beyond Borders, Kimberly decided to design a new, trendy companion set of borders, Beyond Borders, Too!

I love the spacing and size of the polka dots.  It’s nice as a single border or easy to line up to create a background or cover a wider area.

And of course honeycomb is so popular and trendy now.  This honeycomb easily lines up so you can create any size you need.  Or you can simply stamp it once and hand draw the edge lines with a multiliner if you’re not stamping along the edge of your paper.

Our next set is Simply Sentiments, a versatile, go-to horizontal greetings set.  I love the clean font and the choice of sentiments.  They are so much more than just a basic “thank you.”  They say what you really want to say in a crisp, clean font with a little bit of style that can be used on a variety of design styles.   I also like that you could bend them or ink up parts of them in different colors (as I did on my sample!)

This set is an especially great companion to the two Beyond Border sets because of their length.

For my sample today, I used a kraft base, stamped the honeycomb from Beyond Borders, Too in Memento ink as the focal piece and then stamped the heart border from another Mint Motif set, Sweet Hearts in Palette to create my background.  Then I added a resin heart, popped up with some dimensional dots, stamped my greeting in two colors and then finished off with some red twine.

We’re spreading the release day projects out over the next few days so be sure to stop in and see projects here each day!  Today’s lineup also includes projects from:

      Kimberly Crawford
      AJ Otto
      Latisha Yoast
      Ryann Salamon

Thanks for stopping by!  I’d love to hear what you think about these two new sets!  See you tomorrow!

      Mint Motif Sneak Peek!

For today’s CAS card I used a rainbow of Memento inks and a little scrap of yellow silk ribbon that I folded over to make it the width I wanted it to be and then added a matching rainbow of Stickles on each intersecting circle point.

      DT Spotlight: Mint Motif

Carolyn didn’t come with us to CHA, so she had a grand weekend of stamping and came up with this lovely card using one of IHP’s exclusive stamp lines, Mint Motif.  She used Beyond Borders to make the background.  What a great Valentine’s Day card!  Be sure to check out her post here for all the details!

      DT Challenge: SRM Calendars

calendar1 Today’s DT Challenge is sponsored by SRM Stickers and we’re highlighting their calendars.  I LOVE these things.  They make such amazing gifts.

For my project I used some Decor Boardz that I picked up at a scrapbooking show and have been hoarding for about 5 years  I decided it was finally time to alter them!

So, I mounted my calendar stickers on white cardstock and then used papers from Echo Park’s Victoria Gardens Collection Kit.

      calendar3

Before I mounted it I added some scallops using my Scallop Edgeabilities (love those).  Then for some extra touches I added some Zva Flutter pearls and pearl flourishes.

To hold everything together (since it was going on non-paper, I used our very own i {stick} papers redline tape.  Did you know we have our very own redline tape?  60 yards rolls, made  specifically for IHP.  The adhesive system offers a secure bond even at elevated temperatures and was originally made for the mounting of ABS plastic parts in the car industry. It is also used for the mounting of decorative profiles and mouldings in the furniture industry. You can use this particular redline tape (they don't all have this property) was made to endure heat, you can emboss with it. Temperature Resistance: 392° F (short term) and 176° F (long term) How nuts is that? I don't think we're going to be playing with super high heat on our PAPER projects but that just goes to show you how strong and amazing this stuff is. And, at 24 cents a YARD, it can't be beat.

calendar2Then I used Fancy Tags Two and added some Nestabling pearls.  I stamped the year in Memento Black using our exclusive Mint Motif I’ve Got Your Number.  It is popped up using some dimensional dots and isn’t attached to the top so that it didn’t tear if it got jostled, and so it could be folded back for gift packaging.

Lastly I used some Lace Pearl trim to hang it.

Be sure to check out the rest of the team’s projects:

      Thanks for stopping in today!

      Birthday Bash Logo Color Challenge

To continue the birthday party today the IHP DT is hosting a color challenge using the colors from the IHP logo.

For my card I used the new Ric Rac Edgeabilities with some Country Drive paper.  I made the ruffle using some self adhesive lace fabric tape and made the flower using a Gluber and some pleated ribbon.  The finishing touch is the little hand cut tag, stamped with Memento ink and a greeting from Cake Shoppe.

ihp3bdaycc We’d love it if you would join us and I’ll be selecting a random winner from all the players!  Add your entry to your blog or online gallery and link it here on the Mr. Linky or post it to our Facebook wall!

Five Minute Friday: Father’s Day: Mint Motif style

Oh gosh…I just realized I never posted this Father’s Day card!  Oops!  I’m a little behind I guess!

Well, here it is!  I used Beyond Borders stamped in Palette ink to make the pattern on the left and then tied a sailor’s knot, using this animated tutorial, from white hemp rope and adhered it with some i {stick} papers and then stamped the father’s day greeting from my stash.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Sorry I’ve been a little MIA…the CHA deliveries and ensuing influx of orders have really been sucking my time – and that’s a good thing!  But, it means I’m a bad blogger.   Forgive me?

      Have a great weekend!
