I know, I know

I know what you're thinking. You saw there was a new post here and thought, "Hey, she MUST have finished her Christmas cards!" Right? Wrong.

Instead I filled an order from one of my wholesale customers who NEEEEEEDED engagement cards because "lots of people get engaged over the holidays." Very true, I suppose. But, these got made in lieu of my Christmas cards. *sigh*

The heart shaped adhesive rhinestones made a perfect diamond, don't you agree? And that little ring was cut from some very old brushed silver cs from SU! It is a 1/2" circle punch and then the inner most circle on my Coluzzle. The square was Nestabilitied (yup, I'm sticking with it...I made it up the other day and now I'm using it!).

The gorgeous paper, which doesn't properly photograph because of the shimmer (yet another installment in my "Hard To Photograph" series) is the backside of the Noisette paper from the Chocolat collection. GORGEOUS paper, I say.

And finally, the ribbon band is made from the new 3/8" double faced white satin. It is SO smooth and silky. GORGEOUS ribbon, I say.

The greeting is one of my favorites, from my PTI anniversary set. LOVE THAT SET!!!

This version is pretty much the same idea, just in gold and without the DP. The greeting is embossed and the ribbon is PTI.

So, that's it! Tomorrow I'm really, really, really focusing on my cards. All of the elements are put together - I just need to assemble the actual cards (and fill them out, of course!)

I also plan to finish at least one of my remaining Decor Elements projects so that I can appreciate it a bit before I have to pack it up with the rest of my Christmas stuff!

Check back again soon! Thanks for stopping by!!

Oh, and don't forget Amber's blog candy!!!

I'm dreaming of...finishing my Christmas cards!

Where has the time gone?!! I have almost all of my elements stamped, Stickled, Shimmerzed and Nestabilitied, Yup, I'm just making words up. Reminds me of the most recent Sarah Silverman episode I watched where she was trying to come up with a new word so that it would catch on as a fad and she'd have some sort of legacy. I don't want new words for that reason, but I want words to describe what I'm doing! I remember when Photoshop became a verb for me. Heh...I was using Photoshop v2 back in college. HAHAHA.

Ok, anyway, I just wanted to check-in and give you a little sneak peek of my cards in progress.

I'm a little irritated because the USPS website for printing postage is down and my mail program pings USPS for me to use it...so I need to trek over to the actual post office today. Well, at least I can pick up my Christmas stamps!

Amber has some blog candy up for the taking so head on over there and try to guess what number is in her head!!

Thanks for stopping in!

More Decor Elements

Yup, I'm back to photographing things that are difficult. This time, mirrors!

This is my Decor Elements mirror and you can see I've been decorating for Christmas! Isn't this frame just totally perfect?!! It's from my favorite frame shop, Frames For You in Summit NJ.

Not much to say about this but I'm really pleased with the way it came out - especially the frame job.

Two more Decor Elements projects to go this season so I'm not done yet with the troublesome photography. Anyone have any tips for these uncooperative items??

Robot Pirate Ship

So instead of Christmas cards, I've been working frantically on another project that I committed to that I needed to finish up. Plus I had an order for Christmas cards that I needed to deliver by tomorrow. Those are done. Phew.

Plus, over the weekend I ran a little private sale for the members of my PaperCraftPlanet group. We hit 100 members and I wanted to say thank you to them. So, I offered up a special coupon exclusively for them. What's that? You don't know about the IHP group? Well then...you should go check it out and join so you don't miss out on any future specials. It's free AND I offer specials to the group members. What could be better?

So, anyway, back to this crazy picture. I was taking part in a sort of exquisite corpse project called boy+girl+robot. I was given a drawing of the boy and girl (on the deck) and a robot (which I omitted for my purposes) and the next installment, which was a comic strip type dialogue. My part was to make the next installment. So...being the papercrafter that I am - this is what I came up with.

It is a pirate robot ship. I based the ship part on one of Qbee's templates over at SCS but tweaked the size (making it much larger) and then reshaping it a bit.

The robot on the plank and the one up in the watchtower were both stamped from Spots Botz and the sail, flag and miscellaneous robot parts were made from the Robotics line of paper from Sassafras Lass.

What you can't tell from this picture is that there are two other little cutey robots (also from Spots Bots) peeking out from the port holes under the deck. And, of course I had to make Spot robot dog. He's hiding behind the boy and the girl.

You can see the two little eyes. He's totally cute. The robot on the plank was coated with Shimmerz Angel Wings to make him metallic and all the other robots are Stickled in various different colors to give them their metallic sheen.

The port holes were made from acetate and then I punched some very old black magic mesh from SU that I had around.

The boy and girl were originally a black and white sketch that I printed out and colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Oh! And, in case you're wondering how I got the robot to stand up on the plank.....there is a Build-A-Brad poking up underneath him, into a foam dot inside his foot. Clever, right?

Hers's a shot of the other cutey robot peeking out from the first port hole.

This project definitely took more time than anticipated but I had such a huge vision. I actually cut it short a bit because I STILL haven't made my Christmas cards. It's pretty bad. What is even worse is the state that my stamping room is in. I don't think I will post pictures of that.

I'll leave you with one more shot of the robot pirate ship. It's a close up of the watch tower robot and the bottom of the sail. You can see the die cut edge of the paper. I LOVE Sassafras Lass' paper. It's such a heavy stock and has such cute trim on the edges. You can also see the jumbo eyelets that I used to hold the sail to the mast. Aren't you impressed I know my sailboat parts so well? :)

Hopefully my next post will be to tell you that I finished my Christmas cards. I need to finish those so that I can move on to things like decorating the tree and baking cookies. The tree has been sitting here in the living room with only lights on it since Saturday. It's a little pathetic looking.

Until next time...watch out for those pirate robots and thanks for stopping by!

Ack! 20! days!!!

Ack! Only 20 days left (19 by the time this post goes live!) until Christmas. I am so far behind this year. Not only are my cards not in the mail but I haven't even settled on a design yet. Yes, this weekend is it! I've also got to get my decorations up this weekend. So no card today but there is some new stuff in the store. I've started to get some Valentine's Day stamps and my basic Nesties have been replenished. They are backordered on the Labels One.

So, hopefully later this weekend I'll have something crafty for you.

BIG NEWS over at our group on PCP. We hit 100 members and this weekend for them (or any new members that join the group) there is a special sale going on. So, go check it out, if you're not already a member!

To those that ordered during Black Friday that earned gift certificates, you should have received your code via email. If you are still waiting, please send me a message and I will resend your code.

Have a great weekend!!

On the sixth day of Christmas...

So for today's challenge over at PCP, it is the 6th Day of Christmas, which means six geese a laying. BUT...I don't have any geese. So the criteria was described as "geese, hunting or wildlife project or card." I consider owls wildlife, so I'm going with it!

Yes, I'm on an ornament kick this year. This one is Winter Birds, 3/8" gold metallic ribbon (doubled up so it wasn't so sheer) and Christmas Cheer gold foil paper. I totally {heart} this paper. Yes, I know, I {heart} papers but this one in particular is a real beauty.

The cs is SU Not Quite Navy and PTI white. The sentiment is also PTI. I hope you're playing along over at PCP. It's been really great so far!

Five Golden Rings!

Today i {heart} papers is co-sponsoring the giveaway over at PCP for the Fifth Day of Christmas. So the theme is round cards or projects. I used my Classic Large Circle Nesties to create this circle card/ornament.

And, yes, Swell Noel paper again! The ribbon band is white twill, stamped with "be merry" from Jolly Christmas in Toile Pink Palette. The loop and bands across the middle are made from my favorite white metallic string. I love this stuff!!!

I dotted the center of the flowers on the DP with my clear Spica. I love sparkly stuff!

When you cut your circles you just want to leave the very top of it connected. You won't really see it because the designer paper over top covers it.

Here is the inside:

Thanks for stopping by today! Now...rush over to PCP for a chance to win our giveaway!
