Color Throwdown #250 and giveaways!

Today The Color Throwdown challenge blog is celebrating its 5th anniversary with its 250th challenge and IHP is co-sponsoring this milestone by donating a $25 gift certificate.  Play along for your chance to be entered to win.  Details are on CTD blog.  Colors are equivalents of SU's Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Kraft, and So Saffron.  SU! colors aren't required even though those are the color names they use for challenges--just use what you have that's close to the challenge colors. 

For my card I used Memento inks: Rose Bud, Bahama Blue, Desert Sand and Toffee Crunch from the Dew Drop Collections. 

I used this flip flop template.  I stamped the large and small flowers from Paper Smooches Get Outta Town in the various inks and then added some magenta shimmer ribbon and some KaiserCraft bling.  Finally I stamped the Happy Birthday from Sentiment Sampler in Palette New Canvas.  I attached the ribbon everything using my favorite Dimensional Dots.

Hi, I am Vera Wirianta Yates. You can also call me by my nickname Ling. I was born & raised in Indonesia, but been calling Texas home for the past 18 years. I am married and mom to 3 spoiled doggies. My love for paper crafting started back in 1997 when I attended my first scrapbook class and I've been hooked ever since. Soon after I branched out to card making. I love both crafts equally, although I do more cards nowadays. I have my works published regularly on Paper Crafts magazine and I have designed for various companies. Besides paper crafting I love animals, movies & anything with pretty colors. I am excited to join i{heart}papers and looking forward to this new adventure.

My name is Wida Miller... I am a short, chubby, mom of 4 who enjoys glitter and buying craft supplies in bulk. I like to create while listening to Maroon 5 and am a bit too analytical for my own good.  I am looking for like minded crafters who are not intimidated by colorful cards and going rogue when it comes to designs. If you don't mind just being yourself no matter what, then I am the gal for you :)

I began my paper crafting hobby when my son was born, wanting to scrapbook all the photos of him and then making handmade cards to send to our family and friends with photos of him to keep them connected with how adorable he was!  Four years later, when my daughter was born I began delving in deeper into rubber stamping and card making... and the rest, as they say is history!  I've been privileged to make some wonderful friends and contacts in our industry and am a better person and paper crafter because of it! Our new guest designer - Chunyuan Wu!!

A new month has arrived, and we are excited to announce that our new guest designer is Chunyuan Wu! We're even more excited to announce that we'll have her for two whole months!! Chunyuan will be joining us for both June & July, yay!

I am a researcher in public health science area.  I live with my husband and two boys in suburban Seattle, WA.  I found out about the world of paper crafting Feb 2011 when I decided to help my preschooler to make valentine cards for his class. I had a lot more fun than he did and never stopped since then. I love the process of paper crafting that helps bringing out my inner creative spirit.  I love all aspects of paper crafts – color, pattern, embellishments, and techniques.   Now, I have become a voracious reader of the online world of card making blogs. I feel so privileged to be part of this inspiring community! Thanks to i {heart} paper for the opportunity to share my projects here.

We are so thrilled to have such a talented lady guesting for us! Chunyuan's papercrafting resume is extensive, full of magazine publications. She also designs for two of the fabulous stamp companies we carry in our store - Avery Elle and Fresh Squeezed Stamps!
