Guest Designer for August & September - Amy Kolling!

It's the first of the month, a happy day at IHP because it means we have a new guest designer joining us! We are beyond thrilled to have the talented and fabulous Amy Kolling joining us for the next two months. Amy's clean and crisp designs are such an inspiration - check them out on her blog, Stamp-n-Paradise!

Here's a little introduction from Amy:

My name is Amy Kolling.  I am so excited to be sharing projects with you as the Guest Designer for IHP!!! Sharing a bit about myself except for stamping.....I am married, have 2 kids, 2 dogs, and work full time as a Dialysis RN.  One of the things I enjoy the most is spending time with my family!  Next to that.....I LOVE to stamp!  I was introduced to stamping when I asked to "look over" a SU catalogue.  That has been many many years ago and I find it fun to look back on my hobby and see how I've changed over the years with the trends.  Through this hobby, I have met some of my closest friends and it has been great to meet some of them in person!!!  Thank you Kate for inviting me this month!

Our Pre-Order Policy

Every time CHA rolls around we get emails asking why we don’t do pre-orders? Well, here’s why. It’s mostly because we don’t trust manufacturing dates. We’ve been burned too many times by manufacturers telling us product will ship by this date and then 2 months later for whatever reason, it actually shows up. This can be due to manufacturing delays, slow boats from China (literally), customs, manufacturing glitches or any number of other reasons. And we don’t feel comfortable taking your money for a pre-order and holding onto it for months while you wait for product to show up. Plus, since we offer free shipping on everything in the store, it gets administratively complicated to manage pre-orders when they aren’t here but are counting towards your free shipping. And, I’m sure you don’t want to wait 2 months until everything is in stock before your order ships.

So, we’ve made the decision to not offer pre-sale of items. There are stores that do it but for our business model, only selling items that are available and in stock and ready to ship is how we do things! It’s the same reason why we never backorder items. If our inventory happens to be off for whatever reason when you order, you get an immediate refund, not a backordered item. Hope this helps clear up any confusion! And as always, thanks for reading and understanding. I always try to help customers understand why we do the things we do.  :-)

I used Avery Elle's Bonjour stamp set and matching die. The gingham paper is from the adorable Carta Bella Summer Cool 6x6 pad. Those yummy macarons are even more fun with a little glitter filling!

Color Throwdown #250 and giveaways!

Today The Color Throwdown challenge blog is celebrating its 5th anniversary with its 250th challenge and IHP is co-sponsoring this milestone by donating a $25 gift certificate.  Play along for your chance to be entered to win.  Details are on CTD blog.  Colors are equivalents of SU's Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Kraft, and So Saffron.  SU! colors aren't required even though those are the color names they use for challenges--just use what you have that's close to the challenge colors. 

For my card I used Memento inks: Rose Bud, Bahama Blue, Desert Sand and Toffee Crunch from the Dew Drop Collections. 

I used this flip flop template.  I stamped the large and small flowers from Paper Smooches Get Outta Town in the various inks and then added some magenta shimmer ribbon and some KaiserCraft bling.  Finally I stamped the Happy Birthday from Sentiment Sampler in Palette New Canvas.  I attached the ribbon everything using my favorite Dimensional Dots.
