Happy December! Can you believe it? 24 more days until Christmas! YIKES!!
I've been itching to make something with Winter Birds and Dust of Snow (although not necessarily together). I love the sparkle on the paper and didn't really want to cover too much of it up (hence the vellum layer with the oval nesties). I have that problem with a lot of my DP. It's so pretty and I never want to cut it, hurt it or cover it up in any way. *grin*
So here it is. Acetate card and all! There is a white panel on the inside for writing, in case you're wondering.
The bird is coated with a very thin layer of Angel Wings Shimmerz. I knew it was going to bleed a little with the ink since it was SU! ink (it was my best match to the DP) and since Shimmerz are water based. But, I figured since there is negative space on the bird, I didn't think it would be the worst thing to have some bleed over. It's a small price to pay for the shimmer! The ribbon is my trusty satin with grosgrain edge.
And, a little PSA, Tuesday, over at PCP, we're co-sponsoring 5th Day of Christmas - FIVE GOLDEN RINGS so be sure to make a card and enter to win!
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

PCP Day 3: 12 Days of Christmas
Day 3 of the PCP 12 Days of Christmas. Isn't this little chick the cutest?! She's also very sparkly in real life, thanks to my Yellow Spica pen (the green ornaments are also Spica.)
And, again, my Swell Noel striped paper. I love these colors!
And, yes, you guessed it, the white metallic string. This stuff is so shiny and iridescent up close!
The greeting is from Jolly Christmas and those are the 2mm gems in the corners. The tent part at the top are oval nesties.
Enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by!

New Year's Eve invite
I can't seem to settle on a Christmas card, so I moved on to a New Year's Eve card. I actually don't usually do New Year's Eve at my house - we almost always go out - but when I saw this paper I knew I wanted to make an invitation for New Year's Eve!
My plan was a pocket card but things rarely go as planned! So, it may look like a pocket card BUT...it isn't.
I had the same problem photographing this as I did the mirror the other day because the silver is SO shiny and reflective. If you look closely, you can see ME in two of the champagne glasses!
Here is the inside. I just printed the information on cardstock vellum and glued it down. Very simple! Ah well, at least now the nagging "use me" which was calling out from this paper is over. Now, back to Christmas cards...
One last reminder that tomorrow is the end of the Black Friday special! Just a quick summary - free shipping on US orders $25 or more and for every $50 you spend, you get a $10 gift certificate towards a future purchase. Gift certificates that are earned this weekend will become active on Dec. 1.
Have a great rest of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

One (not so turtle) dove card
This is the card I made for the Paper Craft Planet 12 Days of Christmas challenge. Two turtle doves...so we could make a card with either a turtle or a bird. I opted to use my nested birds since I hadn't used them yet! The eye is a yellow 2mm gem. The Peace greeting is again from the PTI Merry and Bright Additions. What you can't really tell is the paper is a gorgeous shimmery white (from cutcardstock.com). I had used this chipboard ornament last year so I only had the outline left but I just traced it and cut it out and then covered it with some of the Christmas Cheer Star Foil paper. I love the gold on it! The top is the metallic gold string just wound around. The rest is pretty self explanatory, no?
That's it for today. I'm still trying to figure out what to do for my personal cards. The weekend is going by so quickly!!
Don't forget the Black Friday special runs through Sunday so go check it out!

HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!
I hope you had a marvelous Thanksgiving. Today kicks off the official Christmas holiday shopping season we're celebrating over here too!
Just a reminder that our Black Friday special is running now through midnight (EST) on Sunday.
I'll be working on my Christmas cards. Traditionally I try to make all of my cards Thanksgiving weekend but this year I have so many that I am not sure I'll be able to finish them all!
Ah well...I'll post them when I'm done! In the meantime, happy shopping!

Playing with Christmas card designs
Traditionally I use Thanksgiving weekend to make all of my Christmas cards. This started back when I was a Stampin' Up! demo and always offered my customers a free shipping/no tax coupon for orders placed during December. I would enclose the coupon in their holiday card but I needed to get it out early enough for them to be able to take advantage of it. So, my goal was to get my cards in the mail on the Monday following Thanksgiving. This year, I don't have that time pressure on me but I am still planning on working heavily on my cards.
So, last night around 11PM I finally decided to start playing. I came up with these two. I'm not sure if either will stick. I had a totally different vision for the pink one but I didn't have the Cuttlebug die I thought I did. Or, maybe I do and I just can't find it!
I used SU Pretty in Pink cs with Palette Toile Pink ink, cutie Pink pom pom trim, my oval Nesties, Green Stripes Holiday DP from the Swell Noel line (love the colors in that!) and my new CB embossing folder. The snowflake and pink brads are just leftover from a purchase from the last Creating Keepsakes convention I went to.
I don't know if you can see it but I dotted the snowflake centers on the Cuttlebug background and the tiny snowstars on the Peace & Love tag with some Icicle Stickles.
The Peace & Love stamp is from the Jolly Christmas set. I have an idea to use the adorable little animals from that set, which I'll try to get out later today but no promises!
It's a busy day, you know? But, as busy as today is, tomorrow is going to be busier! I've got the Black Friday special going on over at the store and Paper Craft Planet is starting their Twelve Days of Christmas giveaway. We're co-sponsoring Tuesday, Day 5 so make sure to check it out! FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!!!
The other card I came up with is this one, which uses Christmas Silhouettes. The DP is from the Christmas Cheer collection and is called Stripe Foil. The gold is so shimmery.
The cs/ink is Bravo Burgundy and Not Quite Navy (a VERY unloved color in my collection!) from SU! They were both excellent matches for the Stripe Foil paper.
The Peace greeting comes from PTI and the ribbon is the very gold and shimmery 3/8" metallic gold.
One thing I don't think you can see in the main image is the Clear Spica on the flowers of the deer.
I went over the white parts in the deer silhouette with the Clear Spica and it makes it ever so subtle and sparkly. I love the Spicas for that subtle effect when something like Stickles or real glitter would just be overkill.
The deer image is mounted on the long rectangle Nesties. Perfect fit, don't you think?
OK, I'm off to get ready for the big Thanksgiving events. The parade has been on in the background to start off my day, but now it is time to get ready! I hope you all enjoy your day and don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the big Black
Friday special!!
Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Gratitude
Happy Thanksgiving! October and November are my favorite months of the year. I love the Northeastern chill in the air and the colors of the Fall. And, even though I am a vegetarian, Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. I love the smells of the Thanksgiving food and the anticipation of Christmas. I enjoy Christmas too but with it starting earlier and earlier each year (is anyone else sick and tired of Christmas starting in August??), by the time it actually happens, I'm kind of ready for it to be over.
There isn't the burn out with Thanksgiving. And, I think it is especially good to reflect and be thankful. We don't do that enough.
This year, in particular, I am so very grateful. I was a little nervous starting i {heart} papers with all the economic uncertainty and competition out there but so far, so good! I've got an amazing design team and wonderful customers who keep coming back with more and more orders! Thank you so much!!
I made this card for my DT members to let each of them know how thankful I am for them and how grateful I am for their hard work in helping me really get the word out about IHP. Hopefully they've all gotten theirs by now and if not...SURPRISE! :) Haha.
All supplies (except the Cranberry Crisp cs) are from the store. The set is Windsor and I inked it with a variety of Palette inks. I just inked directly from the pad to the stamp from lightest to darkest: Jardin Moss, Raw Moulin Rouge and Raw Sienna. If you've never used Palette inks they are amazing. They are a hybrid ink, which means you can use them on cardstock or on things you might otherwise use StazOn for, such as acetate or glass. You can't use them for embossing because they dry too quickly but for everything else, these are pretty much what you want to use. There are 36 colors and they are all in stock right now!
I used the new Labels One dies to cut and emboss my focal point. The ribbon is this amazing dark brown stitched velvet. It is SO nice to touch. It also comes in a cream version. YUM!
The DP is Brandy Butter from the Wassail collection. I finished it off by putting a few dabs of Frosted Lace Stickles on the image. Not a lot - just enough to make it pick up the light a bit.
So anyway, I hope you enjoy your day! Thanks for checking in! Don't forget the Black Friday special going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

More Decor Elements
OK, so before I resigned my SU demonstratorship (*waving hi to all my Stamping Queens!*) I stocked up on a bunch of Decor Elements. As I said before, I wasn't totally hooked on them but boy do they make nice and easy home decor gifts! I guess that's kinda the point huh?
When I showed you the Thanksgiving one, I was complaining how hard it was to photograph. Well...then I met this puppy. How on earth do you photograph mirror?!! Anyone? Oh well. Meet the inside of my light tent.
I am VERY fortunate that I have an "in" at a local frame shop and get really amazing things framed for cost. VERY lucky.
Anyway, I ordered the frame and mirror custom and then just slapped the Decor Elements on there. How perfect and adorable is that green and red? And, it is laquer and shiney. PERFECT.
I have at least 2 more Decor Elements things I am working on for Christmas gifts so you'll have to endure a few more posts from me about it.
But, I do have a BUNCH of IHP posts lined up for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so make sure you stop back then so see what I have up my sleeve. *grin*

New goodies and tutorial!
Hi! Did you see the new goodies?
The new Chocolate Wedding paper is YUMMY! I mean, chocolate and paper - it's a no brainer. You really can't go wrong. The photos don't do it justice but it is this chocolate goldy kinda color with pearl and/or foil accents. YUM!!!
And check this paper out! How awesome would that be for New Year's Eve invitations?! It is black and silver foil. It's AMAZING!
I also received my first shipment of Our Craft Lounge stamps. Seriously, how cute is that dog? Adorable, I say. Oh and I got new colors of the double faced suede ribbon like this one! It's got an amazing texture. You're going to just want to sit and rub it.
Are you all getting ready for Thanksgiving? I am. And I've got some BIG things planned but you'll have to wait and check back to see what all the details are.
And, to wrap up our Design Team's first month of service, Lori and Tracy will be offering some blog candy this week so be sure to stop in on their blogs and see what they've got.
Oh, you're probably wondering what the details are with my little tree eh? Well...start saving those paper towel rolls!! Here are some detailed pictures and some tips.
Well first, I used our very own i {stick} papers double sided sticky tape for ALL my adhesive on this project. The paper is from BG's Wassail collection and is called Tree Lot.
From the bottom up:
The base of this project is a cut apart clear card box, covered with a thin layer of ModgePodge and then dusted with cotton ball white flock for snow. The presents were made with scraps of the Tree Lot paper and tied up with this super sparkly metallic gold string.
Cover your paper towel roll about 1/2 of the way up with trunk colored cardstock. I used PTI's Dark Chocolate.
Then cut one sheet of your Tree Lot paper into 4"x2" pieces and then into triangles, so that they are 4" long at the point and 2" wide at the top. Starting at the bottom of the tree, tape down (using ISP of course!) the top part of each triangle. Remember to leave room for your trunk to show. I started about 4 inches up from the bottom. Tape the pieces around the tube point to point like this:
Then move up about 1-2 inches, depending on how dense you want your tree to be and do another layer, IN BETWEEN the layer you just did so that it would look like this:
Are you still with me? Do this all the way to the top. Remember that you will be curling the pointy tips, so don't leave too much room or your bare paper towel roll will show when you curl them and that would be icky.
I did mine kind of sparse to imitate the tall, skinny bare trees I see in magazines. I used one sheet to make triangles.
As I got close to the top I used some of the scraps to make skinnier triangles that weren't 4" long. At the very top I wrapped a 2" piece of the paper around the top ring to cover the bare tube.
Then, out of my second sheet I made a cone (used a large dinner plate to get the arch).
Cut out the cone and roll and tape it. Depending on how large of a cone you made (and how far down it comes when it sits on the top of the tree) cut out triangles to create the fringe. I did this once it was sitting on the tree because it was easier to see.
I taped down my top but you could leave it removable and use the tube as a gift bag of sorts and fill it with tall skinny things. Biscotti? Sparklers? Pretzel rods? You decide!
Finally I topped my tree with a chipboard star covered in Goldenrod Stickles.
I hope you try your own!
And hey - have you joined the Planet yet? I sure hope so! Come join our group over there. There will be some amazingly cool things happening over there during December and I wouldn't want you to miss out!
Thanks for stopping in!

"We Can't Call It Sticky Strip" winners
Inspired by Lynn and Kryssi's suggestions (both included some form of {heart} and sticky, ala i {heart} papers), I've come up with i {stick} papers (ISP tape, for short).
So Lynn and Kryssi, you each get a roll of ISP tape! Congrats! Contact me with your shipping information and I'll get it right out!
Thanks for all your entries! Many of them were good but were unfortunately names of other products so I couldn't use them.

Some non IHP samples
So in between filling lots of orders today (people are realizing the coupon expires soon!) I put these together.
First, I know this isn't really IHP related but what girl doesn't love PTI?? It is ALL PTI, except for the Cuttlebug background and Goldenrod Stickles.
Summmer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, First Fruits DP, First Fruits set and PTI sheer gold ribbon.
Then next, I picked up my finished home decor pieces, made with SU! Decor Elements. When these things came out I complained and was deadset against them. But, I tried them and eh...they're not so bad. :) They make nice gifts, don't you think?
So here's the story with these. I made two of these - one in yellow and one in red. One for me and one to give away. Tee hee.
Here is how I did it. First, I went to the frame shop and picked out a frame and mat. They made the shadowbox out of the mats for me. Here's what they looked like.
At the same time, they gave me the cut glass to take home so I could lay it on the box, decorate the box and apply the DE to the glass.
I got a steal at Target with buying some leftover Decorative Potpourri Filler. All of the leaves and acorns and pinecones were in there. SCORE!
So, here, the DE are applied and the glass is just resting on the box. I glue dotted the nature stuff in certain spots and then left a pile of it at the bottom loose.
So today I returned to the shop and they put the actual frame on it and put it all together for me. Normally when I photograph framed things I do it without the glass, to reduce the glare, but obviously that can't happen so. So...sorry for the pictures. The glass was reflecting my light tent.
I actually did some IHP crafting today but until I send those cards out (and certain people have received them,) I can't really post them. Sorry!
Hope you like my DE and PTI card!

The Ongoing Saga of Pierceabilities
So I just spoke with a different person at Spellbinders (*cue angelic angels singing*). They are having me return my shipment and are getting prepared to issue a statement regarding the manufacturing issues. At this point they are not sure what they will do moving forward. They may reisssue them as Borderabilities since the cutting part is just fine but apparently getting the holes to be all the same size and punched through is more difficult than they anticipated. So, they are going back to the manufacturer to see if there is anything else that can be done. So, for now, they won't be available. Sad, but better than having (and paying for) a product that won't perform.
Hopefully a little later tonight I will have a home decor item that I've been working on to show you and I will be going through all of the entries for the "I Can't Call It Sticky Strip" contest.
Thanks for stopping by!

SAD SAD DAY
So, I am sad to report, just like Ellen's experience, that the Pierceability quality is unacceptable and I am returning my order. This is very, very sad.
FOUND!
UPS just delivered my Pierceabilities! YAHOO! I'm off to tear one of each open to see if they actually work now. They do NOT appear to have the clear template (and I've already placed a call to my friend <<<<-----*note sarcasm* at Spellbinders) but if they pierce and cut the way they should then I will post them online. I will post back once I have tested them!
STAY TUNED!

Still nothing...
*sigh* UPS came and went, leaving four boxes for me but didn't have anything from Spellbinders. Although, based on Ellen Hutson's post today, I'm a little concerned that she didn't just receive a bad batch and that they may all be defective. If/when I get them, I will be sure to test them before I post them. So, needless to say, it is disappointing. There has been so much hype and anticipation leading up to them.
I did however get my latest order of ribbon and hope to get that posted tonight or tomorrow. LOTS of yummy new luscious ribbons. I've fleshed out the colors available in the faux double sided suede like olive! That stuff is AMAZING to touch. I also just added some more sparkly metallic string. The white is PERFECT for that snowy touch on your winter cards.
Don't forget:
- Check the DT's blogs. THREE of them are offering blog candy.
- The "I Can't Call It Sticky Strip" naming contest ends on the 20th. HURRY UP!!!
- DT Challenge coupon ends on the 22nd.

Lost
So apparently my order of Pierceabilities is lost. Yes, LOST. Spellbinders said they supposedly shipped on the 12th but the never made it here and nobody knows where they are. *WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH*
That's my update for today. I'm going to go cry now. :-(
So...if you find a box addressed to i {heart} papers filled with Pierceabilities, will you let me know? You wouldn't dream of just keeping it now, would you?!!

I can't call it Sticky Strip CONTEST!!!
So...since I can't call it that, I'm holding a contest to have you name it! It is a MONSTER roll - 60 YARDS of 1/4" super sticky strong red line tape. It is packaged and wound especially for us but is the same material that some cars are held together with. It is heat resistant up to some crazy high temperature because of that. How nuts is that? I don't think we're going to be playing with super high heat on our PAPER projects but that just goes to show you how strong and amazing this stuff is. And, at 22 cents a YARD, it can't be beat.
So...what do you think it should be called? Leave your suggestions here or over on our PCP group. I'll pick a winner on Nov 20 and winner will receive a free roll. I promise, once you try it, you'll be STUCK on it! HAHAHA! I crack myself up!
And, don't forget to check my I QUIT SU! TO OPEN THIS STORE sale. Make me an offer!

We interupt this blog for an important message
Due to the opening of i {heart} papers, I recently resigned from SU! and am clearing out the majority of my SU! supplies and sets. I have posted a complete list here. Please email me if you are interested. Include you name, address, items you want, and what you're offering. I am generally willing to take at least 30%-40% off the catalog price – sometimes MORE, except where noted (based on recent eBay sales). Make me an offer – I’m sure we can work something out. I don’t want to just give this stuff away but I do want to get rid of it and recoup as much of my investment as possible.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Still waiting...
Still sitting here waiting for Pierceabilities. *sigh* In the meantime, the latest shipment of Basic Grey came in and that includes some awesome new holiday chipboard and tags, as well as some more 6x6 pads and full collections of of Wassail and Granola.

Memory Box is here
Memory Box papers are here! We also received one of the four stamp sets we ordered. The other three were discontinued! Boo-hoo! These cardstock papers are beautiful! We got Sprout, Winterberry, Gingercake and Twiggy as well as the Party Time stamp set. Go check 'em out!
Did you know that on our site below the menu on the left there is a drop down, by manufacturer, to help you see all the items from that company? Just in case you missed it - now you know!
Hopefully tomorrow the UPS man will bring some Pierceabilities love in a box.
Antsy
For those of you who know me well, or at all for that matter, I have no patience. That is probably one of the reasons I started i {heart} papers to begin with! So, I'm sitting here waiting (not so) patiently for the Pierceabilities to show. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I've even made a spot for them on the pegboard in the storage closet for them to go on. Yup, I'm not very patient.
So, while I'm waiting, let me tell you about these fabulously easy cakes and beaded daisies. DT member Cathleen use them in her sample here but I thought I'd show you my sample as well. I love this card but it is SO hard to photograph acetate.
How simple is this? Take the cake, put some Diamond Stickles around the tiers and then stick a few beaded daises on there. Voila!
So that's it for now. Back to waiting for UPS to come and visit me. I'll let you know as soon as they show up! Stay tuned...they'll be flying off the pegboard - I'm sure of it!!

Have you joined the Planet?
In keeping with my pseudo-extraterrestrial theme from my last post, have YOU joined this planet? If not, you should! It's an online social networking site, similar to Facebook but for paper crafters! IHP has a group over there and I plan on making product announcements there, and maybe even offering specials to our group members over there. So put on your space suit and fly on over and join the i {heart} papers group. Registration is super simple and takes about 5 seconds. Then you click to join the IHP group and you're in!
Our very own Lori is even on the design team over there too!
So, stop by once you register and say hi to IHP on our Comment Wall!
Oh, and a new round of blog candy from the DT is starting. Cathleen posted hers tonight. You have until Friday to leave her some love. And there is still time if you haven't gone over to Amber's. She's got some ADORABLE cupcake stuff and who doesn't love a good cupcake?!! But, hurry up - she is picking the winner on Saturday!
Thanks for stopping in and I hope to see you over at PCP!

Pierceabilities are en route!
Yup, they're on their way. They shipped on 11/3/08 and may even be here tomorrow!! As soon as I get them I'll make them live on the site.
One last reminder that Carolyn's blog candy ends tomorrow so head over there to enter to win Winter Shapes, a fabulous new set from Inkadinkado. Love that set! Get a jump on those holiday cards!
Have you seen all the yummy ribbon at the store? There going to be some blog candy coming up from one of the DT members with a super delicious ribbon sampler. You'll have to stay tuned to see which one of my talented ladies is offering that!
I'll leave you with this super simple card. I used my Oval Nesties to emboss and a 3D white clay vase. If you have never used this, they are SO simple...just glue dot them on! Just make sure you send it in a padded envelope or it will get crushed by the USPS. The roses come in bundles but you can easily pull them apart to stretch them. These are about the only flowers I can manage to keep alive. I am a HORRIBLE gardener.
Paper and ribbon are both from SU!
Stop by the check out all the new things listed at the store. We just got some DVD Tins in - perfect for making those holiday wishlists!

Theeeey're Heeere!!!
No, they're not poltergeists...but they are HERE!
I've been an uploading fool! The new Nestabilities are here (all of them except the Piercabilities, which Spellbinders says should be arriving this week) as well as some new Stampendous clear sets (like Chagito in Space, Hot Botz (and coordinating sets...how cute are those?!!) and Butterfly Beauties.) And, let's not forget about all the new Just Rite goods! It's like Christmas early over here!
I've also put a bunch of Halloween stuff on sale. So, if you haven't already scrapped your goblin munchkins from this year, head on over and see what's on sale. There are some really delicious papers: Heidi Grace shimmery flocked bats, tinsel and candy glitter, just to name a few! Check the sale page on the site!
Don't forget that a few of the DT members are giving away BLOG CANDY!! Carolyn's ends Friday at noon and Amber's ends on Saturday. So hop on over and leave a comment for your chance to win!

It's Alive
Yes, the i {heart} papers blog is finally born! We'll use this as a place to announce specials, new products that have arrived, as well as what's going on with our amazing design team. Speaking of them, Carolyn and Amber both are offering BLOG CANDY! So head on over for your chance to win!
In product news, I spoke with Spellbinders on Friday and our shipment of new Nesties is en route. YIPPEE! So, check the store later this week for the new goods! I can't wait to get my little hands on them!
Also, I wanted to wish DT member Carolyn a belated happy birthday. The card I made her has the privilege of being the very first card upload. Isn't it gorgeous? It uses Stemma's Black and Teal Garden paper which I covered in Versamark and then embossed with SU! Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It is amazingly sparkly and has the added benefit of not making everything else glittery when you touch it.
Well, thanks for checking in! Come back again soon!
