Long card: Happy Birthday to a Great Friend!

longbirthdaybirds

Hello from CHA!!  I flew in late last night and am excited to hit the floor today.

This is a super quick (and cute) card I made for one of my bestest girlfriends.  We’re only 6 days apart in birthdays.  I used some paper from the Happy Bird Day Caboodle kit, Stickled their little birdie bellies with Stardust and then stamped my greeting in Palette Noir onto the white twill ribbon.  Easy peasy!!

I’m definitely stopping by Three Bugs In A Rug to see their new Caboodle Kits today!  The current ones are on sale for only $8…so grab them now!!

Tomorrow is our DT dinner – YUMMO!  I’m so excited to get to meet some of my DT girls in person!!  CHA is always a great time to meet up with people.

Today, we are sponsoring the CHA coverage over at Craft Critique so please pop on over there (there might even be something in it for you!) and see all the great pictures, products and overall coverage.   They always do a bang-up job at CHA and I’m sure this year will be no different!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

DT Challenge – Wide Ribbon

DTChallenge072809

I am NOT a wide ribbon gal. I love dainty little ribbons that I can knot and bow and tie easily. So today, the IHP DT was challenged to use wide ribbon. Now, I suppose the term “wide’ is subjective but for me anything over 5/8” or 7/8” is wide. My card uses 1 1/2” May Arts WIDE white silk ribbon. This ribbon is so luscious and remarkably easy to knot and bow. I have to admit, I do like the look of the full bow…maybe this is a slippery slope!

I used some paper from the Wisteria collection – I’ve been hoarding this too. Isn’t it pretty? I love the colors. I used my Long Scalloped Rectangle Nesties to make the perfect size mat by running the piece through twice and lining up the scallops to get the perfect size and then used some circle Nesties to make the tag. The greeting is stamped in Palette Violette.

Please go visit the other DT blogs to see their great projects and one of them even has blog candy! I’m not telling who though…you’ll have to visit to find out!

Five Minute Friday With Love

withlovebling

Happy Friday!!

I love black and white with a bright color. Today I took some Washed paper from the Piggy Tales Itsy Bitsy Spider collection. I used both sides on this card and some scraps of my white twill ribbon. I stamped the greeting from Chelsea Greetings in Palette Noir and then added some clear gems along side of the greeting as well as in the ticket punched corners.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend planned! I'll be packing and getting ready for CHA next week! I'm so excited! There are going to be six of us there from IHP and we're having a big dinner Thursday night!

I'm hoping to be able to blog from there about the new goodies I'm ordering, but we'll see!

Back in town!

Picture 442blog

I’m baaaacck.  Niagara Falls was absolutely wonderful.  This is a picture from our hotel room.  (It’s a panoramic shot so be sure to click it to get the whole thing.)

Let’s all say “ooohhhh” together now.  (Kudos to the Fallsview Marriott.  Everything was perfect.)

If you’d like to see more pictures you can view my Kodak Stream here.  All orders are packed and ready to go out first thing in the morning.  Thank you all for your patience while I was taking a short break.

CHA is next week and I’m sure I’ll have lots of news from that, as well as some other big news coming up.  Stay tuned!

Hap-py Bee Day!

happybee This is the card I sent Deb for her birthday a few weeks ago! I used the Hap Bee Day set and stamped this cutie in Palette Noir. Then I colored him with Melon, Pitch Black and Yellow Spica pens. I used some of the Piggy Tales Itsy Bitsy Spider collection, this time using some Washed pieces and the small scale side of Spout. I love that a lot of the PT papers have a large scale on one side and then the same design in a smaller scale on the other side. It finished it off with some of the stitched black/yellow ribbon – perfect for bee cards!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Five Minute Friday Butterfly (again)

fmfbutterflybirthday

OK, are you sick of these butterflies yet? I’m done after this one I think…

This is quick and simple card. I used one of the die cut butterflies from this paper. I mounted him on a Nestie circle over some of the pink/brown reversible satin ribbon and then stamped the greeting from Expressions in Palette Burnt Umber. It needed a little bling so I used my Cotton Candy stickles to make little dots around the scallops and TADA!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!!

Sweet Friend mirror

sweetframemirror

Hi! Remember two weeks ago when I told you I’d have the coordinating gift for my friend? Well, here it is!

I used a bunch of the die cut butterflies from this paper and mounted them on a mirror I picked up a long time ago.

Then I dissected this flourish to make the trails behind all of them. They are all mounted with a little piece of i {stick} papers redline tape (only 21 cents a yard!!) and then the wings are propped up with dimensional dots.

I used my Sweet Friend stamp from Chelsea Greetings and my Versamark pad and white embossing powder to stamp the bottom and then finished it off with the wide white 100% silk ribbon to hang it from.

In other news, we learned yesterday that Ron the Mailman is retiring in October but before then (at the end of this month) they are assigning him a new route and he will not be our carrier any more. I can't be 100% sure that I didn't play a part in that. I wonder if he requested a new route! HAHAHA! Ah well...hopefully the new guy is as patient and nice as Ron. Stay tuned...

Remember, orders will not be shipping from July 16- July 22. I'm down to counting the hours until we leave for Niagara Falls but I'll spare you the details. Boy, aren't you going to be glad once this trip is over??!! (But then I'll start talking all about CHA!!!)

Thanks for stopping by!

The Mystery Box

mysterybox

WHAT ON EARTH COULD THIS BE?!!!  It got delivered to me at the end of last week and I don’t think I was ever so glad to see my Mr. Brown UPS man.

It’s the BIG surprise I’ve been eluding to now for a short while.  And, my bloggie friends…it is HUGE.

But, it isn’t quite ready yet (sorry) - you’ll have to wait until after CHA to find out what it is.  It’ll be worth the wait though…I promise!

In the meantime, hope on over the Facebook and become a fan of IHP.  I just made a fan page over the weekend and I’d love to have you be a fan.  :)

Any guesses what’s in the box?

I’ll be back tomorrow with a crafty post you won’t want to miss!  Have a great Monday!

Five Minute Friday Sweet Blossoms

purpleflowers

Hi there! Happy Friday! Sorry for the darkness of this picture. It was very overcast and rainy when I took it.

This is a super simple card. I used the new Lavender Silk ribbon and some of the Sweet Blossoms and then stamped the greeting in Palette French Lilac on an oval Nesties tag.

The swirlies are from the Windsor stamp set and are stamped in Palette Viridian Leaf.

That’s it. Less than 5 minutes. OK, that’s all I’ve got for today. I’ve only got 5 days until we leave for Niagara Falls and I’ve got lots of things to do before then, including scheduling some blog posts! Remember, orders will not be shipping from July 16-22.

Have a great weekend!!

Love Always - WSC87

WSC87
WSC87

I am LOVING sketch challenges lately. I think maybe it is because it gives me structure. I’m a color inside the lines, follow the rules kinda gal. :)

So anyway, Charmwarm was hosting this sketch this weekend and I decided to play along! It also gave me the chance to use some of the Lime Rickey paper I’ve been hoarding since I listed it in store. (Heh…one of the fringe benefits of owning a store!) I also used some of the glimmer lime grosgrain ribbon. I love the spectrum of colors this comes in. I’m hoping these folks are at CHA at the end of the month so I can see what other goodies they have. I stamped the heart from the So Sweet set (love the cupcake in that set too and it’s on SALE now!) in Claret, Chartreuse and Cote d’Azure Palette inks and then put a little Stardust Stickles on the swirls in the hearts. If you look closely you can see the shimmer. The greeting is from All Occasions Messages (of course) and is punched out.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a great weekend! (Scroll down for pictures from my weekend!) And, remember, no shipping from July 16-22. Only 9 more days until Niagara Falls! Woo-hoo!!

NSR: Garlic Harvest and other 4thy things!

july4collage

Happy Sunday! I thought I’d pop in here and show you some pictures from our day yesterday. We had a pretty lazy July 4th. The weather was PERFECT…really…of course we paid for this weekend's fantastic weather with about 4 weeks of pretty much solid rain so it was well-deserved!

July 4 is garlic harvesting time here. We plant garlic around Halloween and around July 4 it is really to be pulled up. This is our biggest yield yet – 36 heads came out looking mighty yummy! Vampires be warned! We also cut some lilies and harvested some mint and lemon verbena (in the baskets).

Then we headed out to the fireworks. It was a perfect night – a beautiful sky, no biting bugs, no humidity and even a little chill in the air. Ahhh…

I hope you had a great weekend! I’ll be back tomorrow with a crafty post for Charmaine’s WSC.

Thanks for stopping by!

Five Minute Friday Butterfly

fmfbutterflybdaybling

Yes, more birthday cards. Now that we’re into July you’re going to see a lot of them!

Do you have big weekend plans? I’m just planning on some house chores and more thinking and planning for Niagara Falls! I will be there in 2 weeks! YAY!!

Remember, orders will not be shipping from July 16-July22.

For today’s card I used one of the die cut butterflies from this paper. I love these little guys and you’ll be seeing them again soon. *grin* I used this flourish to make the trail behind him and for the little gems on his body. Then I stamped the greeting from Expressions in Palette Charcoal. Are you shocked I used a different greeting set??

I finished it off with the wide celery 100% silk ribbon. I’m not usually a wide ribbon kinda gal but this ribbon may convert me (much to the delight of DT member Cathleen who LOVES wide ribbon!)

This card is for a very special friend…I’ll have to coordinating project for you to see soon! Thanks for stopping by! Have a very safe and fun weekend!

Happy Birthday Deb!!

birthdaybee Today is DT member Deb’s birthday!  You’ll see the card I sent her soon but in the meantime I wanted to show you the card I did for CPS21Tracy is guest hosting this week so I wanted to play along.

I used the Happy Greetings and stamped it in Palette Noir for the greeting and used the little gems from the same package.  The bee is a Woolie from the new June Bug line from Basic Grey.

I used some of the Piggy Tales Itsy Bitsy Spider collection, the small scale side of Spout.   I made the bee trail from a cut up bit of this Zva flourish and then finished it off with some yellow faux suede ribbon.    I love how it all came together.  I’m really enjoying these sketch challenges lately!!

Please stop by Deb’s blog and wish her some birthday love! Thanks for stopping by!
