DT Day: Lori

Hi, IHP fans! It’s Lori here today with a simple and cheery springtime design.

Hand lettering is such a hot trend right now and WPlus9’s new Hand Lettered Hello set is perfect for bringing that handwritten look into your designs. On this card, I stamped one of the set’s large “hello” sentiments in green pigment ink across a white panel, then, after a little going back and forth between all of the choices in the set, added the “a note to say” above it in the same green ink.

I added a bright pop of color to the card by cutting the panel just beneath the stamped sentiment. I edged the panel with a narrow strip of bright pink cardstock, then added a strip of bright rainbow striped paper from Doodlebug Design behind it. I added the remaining strip from the white panel at the bottom, then adhered the stamped panel to a green card base. A few yellow enamel dots add a final pop of color to the simple design.

DT Day: Sarah

Hi IHP fans! Sarah popping in today, I hope you've been having a wonderful Easter!

Ask me what my favorite sentiment set, or floral stamp set is, and I'll need a few days to work it out! But ask me what my favorite masculine set is? EASY! The Man by Avery Elle. I LOVE this set. It's truly a must have!

Today I've paired The Man with paper from the new Kelly Purkey collection for Basic Grey, Mon Ami. I really love the range of colors, and patterns in this pack. If you loved Persimmon (and I did!) you'll love this one too.

All my stamping was done with Memento Luxe inks. They are now my go-to inks for EVERYTHING and especially solid stamping like the banner and beer bottle. I've used Peanut Brittle and Espresso Truffle here.

The pinked layer is Avery Elle's Pinked Ell-ements. I finished my card with a retro border, vellum circle to highlight my focal point, and some AWESOME woodgrain enamel dots. I'll be using these on all my masculine cards!

Thanks for stopping by today - if you find Masculine cards difficult, give The Man a try!

DT Day: Sheri

Hello IHP fans!  It's Sheri here.  Today, I have a card featuring some pretty papers and a couple dies.  These are one of my favorite type of cards to create since they are so quick & easy to put together.

I used papers from the Flourish 6x6 pad from Authentique.  I then cut out a Tag Scallop die from Paper Smooches.  The sentiment is cut with the Scripty Hello die from Lawn Fawn.  I then used a pierced velum circle, pink baby clothes pin, Hemptique Twine Cord, and My Minds Eye Enamel Dots to embellish.

Thanks so much for stopping By!  Have a wonderful day!

DT Day: Lindsay

Hello!  Lindsay here with you today, showing you a simple card, using watercoloring.
Starting with the fun floral swirls from the Oh Yes set by Technique Tuesday, I stamped them in clusters and colored them in with Distress Markers, and water.  I then took a long sentiment from the I Like You set, and adhered the panel to a yellow piece of cardstock.
To make the flowers pop, I adhered the panels to a black card base.  Very simple, and fun!
Thank you for joining me today!

DT Day: Vera

Hi everyone. Vera here. Today I have a pretty card to share with you all. I am also entering this card for Moxie Fab World Styling with Stencils challenge. I am  totally into stencil lately. Slowly my stencil collection is growing.

Here's my card:

I had lots of fun making this card. For the stenciling part, I laid the stencil directly on the card and use sponge to dab the color. The beautiful flower bouquet is from Avery Elle Thanks A Bunch set and the Hello sentiment is from Avery Elle Laurels set. I also used Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and My Mind's Eye Milo enamel dot. Love, love, love the enamel dots. Super fun  to use.

I am going to try out Wendy Vechi's Embossing Paste that I got from the store next. I'll share that result on my blog. Well, that's it from me today. Have a fabulous Thursday!

Welcome Sheri!

We are THRILLED to be welcoming Sheri Gilson to our core design team.  If she looks familiar, it's because she was a guest for us back in December and January.  We loved her style and work so much for the two months she was our guest that we invited her to join our team full time.  Please visit her blog and give her a giant IHP welcome!  And while you're at it, make sure you check in on our Facebook page, too!  We share news, updates, inspiration, and the occasional giveaway!

Guest DT: Jocelyn Olson

Today we're thrilled to be welcoming Jocelyn as our guest for the next two months.  Here's her first post for us!

Hi! It’s Jocelyn Olson from Red Balloon Cards. I’m thrilled to be the guest designer for the next couple of months!

I’m a wife, mom of two great kids, avid papercrafter, bright color lover, non-fiction book reader, Brady Bunch fan, and expert Polly Pockets dresser. In my spare time, I work as a consultant for states on Federal education and special education programs. Currently, I’m on the Glitz Design Digital and the Scraptastic Club Design Teams, and I’ve been fortunate enough to be published in Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking and CARDS magazines. I am primarily a card maker, although I love making all kinds of projects, both traditional and hybrid. You can see my projects on my blog at Red Balloon Cards. Thanks, i {heart} papers for having me as a guest!

Today, I’m sharing a card that’s pretty typical for me—stamps, papers, and embellishments. Fortunately for me, i {heart} papers carries all of those things. J

I started with the My Favorite Things Polaroids Dies—these are definitely a favorite. I die-cut them with BasicGrey Capture papers and did some fussy cutting from one of the papers to layer in the Polaroids. I also used Paper Smooches Cardbooking Dies to die-cut an arrow from one of the Capture papers and a heart from one of BasicGrey’s Spice Market papers. I love that these two 6x6s coordinate!

For the sentiment, I used Technique Tuesday’s Rah Rah Sentiments set. Here’s a close-up:

I added a few details to the card, like the Essentials Enamel Dots, the Hello Sunshine Mixed Sequins, and some stitching and misting.

Thank so much for stopping by!
