DT Day: Lori

Hi, IHP fans!  It's Lori here today with a project featuring stamps and dies from Avery Elle.  As a kindergarten teacher, I couldn't resist the storybook themed Red and Goldie stamp set and matching dies.  They make such cute cards, like this sweet birthday card featuring the Goldie image.

For this card I stamped Goldie on white cardstock and colored her with Copic markers, then used the matching die to cut out the colored image.  To add a little pattern to the image, I paper pieced Goldie's skirt using a scrap of gingham patterned paper.  The color of the gingham is a perfect match for Goldie's hair!  The finished image was attached to a simple outdoor scene using dimensional dots.  I stamped the "happy birthday to you" sentiment in the upper right of the corner in black pigment ink. I matted the scene on golden yellow cardstock, then adhered it to a white cardstock panel.

To bring in a bit more of the gingham pattern, I die cut a tag from the same patterned paper using the large tag die from Avery Elle's Simply Tags dies .  I threaded the hole in the top of the tag with some red faux suede ribbon and secured it with a knot, then tucked it underneath the left side of the image panel.

DT Day: Sarah

Hello IHP fans! Sarah here today with a pretty tag using lots of goodies you can find in store!

Did you know many of the wonderful companies stocked at IHP have challenges? I love to use these as a basis for creativity. This week, Avery Elle have a botanical challenge. It was fun to look through my Avery Elle sets and see what would work!

I used the Blueprints 9 die set as the base for my tag. The pretty paper from the Mildred collection was scalloped with another die from this set (then mostly covered with a doily - ha!) I've used lots of Hero Arts shadow inks for the pretty bouquet stamping using the Love Notes stamp set, and Gray Flannel Memento Luxe for the sentiment that comes from Save the Date.

The enamel shapes are from the Mildred collection also. I love to have tags like this on hand, in a pinch you can wrap a gift in seconds!

DT Day: Lindsay

Hello i {heart} papers fans!  Lindsay here with you today, to offer you a bit of inspiration using some of the products found in the store.  I just love the latest Avery Elle's Weather It stamp set, along with the Weather It dies.  I used both on this card today.
I started with a piece of springy patterned paper, and adhered a block of vellum to it.  I then trimmed a banner shape from more patterned paper, that I had stamped my sentiment onto.  I tied a bit of Baker's Twine around it.
For the umbrella, I stamped the image, along with some hearts, and then die cut it from yellow patterned paper, adhering it with foam tape, and looping the umbrella handle under it a bit.  I then added a sprinkle of Lawn Fawn Sequins to finish it. I hope you found a bit of inspiration here, and are able to get creative today!

DT Day: Guest Jocelyn

Hi! It’s Jocelyn Olson from Red Balloon Cards. I’m back again for my second month as one of the Guest Designers.

Today, I’m sharing a summery freestyle/collage card. i {heart} papers has such a great mix of supplies—it was easy to find various products to make a scrappy card. J

I started with stenciling White Embossing Paste on the background of the card. I wanted the circles to look like bubbles…I’m not sure that they do, but they are fun. J I hand-cut and layered papers from the awesome #Summer paper pack. I added a layer of linen vellum over the papers to lighten the look.

On the bike journaling card in the #Summer paper pack, I stamped the Technique Tuesday Classic Ali Edwards sentiment. Here’s a close-up:

I added a few details to the card, like the Essentials Enamel Dots, the Hello Sunshine Mixed Sequins, and some stitching and misting.

Thank so much for stopping by!

DT Day: Vera

Hi everyone. Vera here.

Today, I have a fun & cute mini card to share with you all. This time, I decided to play with some patterned paper and the cute chipmunk from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods set.

I cut the hexagon shape from the patterned paper from Simple Stories 24/7 6x6 paper pad as I only want to cover part of the card. The "hello" is also from the same paper pad. For extra detail, I covered the word with Wink of Stella Brush Glitter Marker (in clear).  In my opinion, a little shimmer never hurts. It just make things prettier. :)

There's more stuff added to the store. Check out the newest additions HERE. Thank you so much for stopping by here.

Welcome Guest Designer Gayatri!

Today we welcome a new guest designer, Gayatri Murali to IHP for the next two months.  Here's what she has to say about herself and her first project for us!  Now, give her a warm IHP welcome!

My name is Gayatri Murali also known as scrapawayg3 at various galleries.  I am a therapist by profession but chose to be a stay at home mom to my children.  I live in Perth, Australia with my husband, my son, daughter and my dog.  I have been papercrafting for past 10 years. My style is clean simple, bold and bright especially, graphic designs with a technique or two. Trends inspire me a lot. You can see a lot of trendy stuff on my cards. My Blog is called Handmade by G3.   My inspirations come from visiting blogs, going through magazine and Aha! Pinterest. I love Pinterest. I spend hours pinning. so if you like to see what I pin, here is my Pinterest Board http://pinterest.com/gayatri/ I am also active in social media links to which are there on my blog right side bar:)

I am so thrilled to be the guest designer for the next two months here at i {heart} papers. Thanks so much for having me.

Today I am sharing with you a floral mother's day card. I am a stamper primarily. Stamping makes me happy especially creating my own background. That is what I have done with this card.

I have used the new floral Wplus9's stamp set called Spring Blooms to stamp my floral background. I love a building stamp set because I can then not only build my own flower cluster but also stamp them in different colours to make my own background. The colourful background creates a great impact. I let the background be the highlight of the card and so stamped the sentiment from Strictly Sentiment #4 also from Wplus9 on to a white card stock panel which I mounted on a piece of gold foil paper and adhered it to the card front on top of bunched up thread using foam adhesives.

To finish the card I have added some enamel dots which are the same colours used on the background. Then I also brushed the leaves and center of the flowers with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer pen.
I decided to do the inside of the card. Here is the inside of the card.

I stamped the big flower cluster from the Spring Blooms stamp set and the sentiment from Strictly Sentiment #4 stamp set. I then brushed some shimmer using Wink of Stella pen on the leaves and center of the flowers.

Hope you liked my clean and simple style mother's day card. Thanks for stopping by! I will see you with another card next week.

Regards

Gayatri
