SC325: Hippo Birthday John!

Hello and Happy Birthday to John!  Hooray!  For his card today I used the SC325 sketch with some new BasicGrey Life of the Party papers and the hippo from OCL’s Circus, Circus.  I colored him with Copics and then added some Glossy Accents.  I finished it off with some orange glimmer ribbon.  The greeting is stamped in Palette and the hippo in Memento black.

That’s it for today!  Thanks for stopping in today.  See you again soon!  More deliveries this week (did you see that all the new Nesties arrived on Friday!?!!) so be sure to keep a look on the new page.  Have a great Monday!

Happy Birthday: CAS Flower

Hello!  Today’s is DT member Loretta’s birthday and I made (it’s in the mail Loretta, but you’ll get it late – sorry!) this card using the flower/vase from the My Cute Stamps Paris set.  I used a piece of paper from Dutch Mustard Soup collection for the layer and colored the flower with Copics.  I added some Crackle Accents to the vase and finished it off with a little knotted piece of pink velvet ribbon.  I popped the center panel up with some dimensional dots

Thanks for stopping in today!  See you again soon!

Five Minute Friday: Have A Happy Day Rainbow

Happy Friday!  It’s going to be 70* here today and our koi pond is being serviced/opened.  Woo-hoo!  That’s the true sign of Spring for me!

Today’s card uses a scrap of October Afternoon Seaside paper and pairs it with the rainbow and greeting from Unity’s Could I Be Any Cuter? colored with Copics and then covered with Glossy Accents.  Finishing touch is a bow of ivory faux suede ruffled ribbon.  Images are stamped in Palette inks and layered using Oval Nesties

Have a great weekend!  This is also opening weekend for Mr. Barbo to start lure coursing!  Yippee!!  I’ll post some pictures next week!  Thanks for stopping by!

DT Challenge: New goodies!!

Hello and welcome to the IH Monthly DT Challenge. This month we’re highlighting some of the MANY new products that are in the new section of the store. A few other these things (Jillibean, MME and LilyBee) have sold out quickly but no worries, I’ve already got everything on reorder. In fact, this is my second Jillibean reorder. Both times they’ve sold out in under 24 hours! Last time I doubled my order and it still sold out! I’ve got more on order so just click on the restock notify link on the page if something is out and you’ll get an automatic email once it is back.

For my card today I used this week’s PCP Sketch with a new My Cute Stamps Easter set, Jelly Beans paired with three of the papers from Dutch Mustard Soup. I used several Palette inks for the jelly bean background, added some Rock Candy Stickles and colored the bunny with some Cotton Candy and Frosted Lace Stickles.

The scallop border was made with Classic Scalloped Petite Borderabilities and then added some bling and yellow velvet ricrac trim.

Be sure to hop through and see everyone’s projects and get some ideas on how to use these great new products!

Unity Ladybugs for My Friend

Hello! Here’s another quick card using Unity’s Little Bugs (on sale!). I stamped the bees in Memento Black and colored them with Copics and then went over the dots with Black Stickles. They’re framed using some Rectangle Nesties over a strip of red glitter paper from the Specialty Paper Pack. It’s supposed to be a holiday collection but I’ve been using the glitter papers for various projects. I love that it doesn’t flake off and doesn’t make a huge mess. The greeting is stamped in Palette L’Amour Red.

That’s it. A pretty quick card. Thanks for stopping in today! DT Challenge tomorrow!

Five Minute Friday: Be Mine Birdcage

Hello!  I’m still loving Echo Park’s Be Mine collection.  There’s just something about pink and black that I love, love, love.  So I used more of the stickers in the collection to make a quick card, along with a simple border made using Jumbo Scalloped Petite Borderabilities.  I added a tie of bright pink silk ribbon and 2 pink gemstones in the hole that are cut with the die.

That’s it!  A quick CAS no-stamp card to make sure you use every bit of those collection packs!  Echo Park has some more amazing collections on their way to me.  I can’t wait but I need to use up this one first!

Mint Motif: Meltshake

This one almost slipped through the cracks without me blogging it.  It got photographed at the end of last year and then tucked away in my 2010 pictures folder and I forgot all about it!

Anyway…here’s a CAS card using Mint Motif Sweet Hearts set.  I LOVE this set.  I stamped the shake in Memento black and then again for the topping so I could color it with Copics and pop it up.  The jar is covered in Stickles Stardust for ultimate sparkly!  The I did a little pleated ribbon treatment with pink minicheck fabric ribbon.  It’s self-adhesive so it’s super easy to do and I love the look.  I added a button from my stash and tied a teeny piece of Cotton Candy Divine Twine on it.  Oval nesties for the frame.  The greeting is stamped Memento black and Palette Belle Rose.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’re having a great week!

I rock-n-rolled the saying in Palette Paris Lights and then in my black in.  The bow is just a little scrap of black and yellow gingham ribbon

NSR: Two years later

bandit 10 wks

Two years ago today we said goodbye to our big, lovable, nearly perfect (except for the biting people thing) dog, Bandit. (This was him at about 10 weeks when we brought him home from being dumped at the shelter. And yes, he would grow into those paws.)

My heart still aches when I think about him too much but luckily having Mr. Barbo around helps me get through. :)

Eventually I hope to be able to finish his banditcardscrapbook but every time I sit down to try to work on it the waterworks start to flow so I put it away.

He was truly one of a kind. He was dangerous and scary looking. People’s favorite line when we’d walk was “Damn, that’s a big dog!” as they’d cross the street. But, we loved him.

We visited the vet with Mr. Barbo last week and we were talking about Bandit and she said, “I don’t miss the challenge but I sure do miss the dog.” That completely sums it up.

So, I'll listen to his song today (how many dogs do you know that have a song written for them?) and will laugh and cry at the same time. He was a handful and life is easier these days but I sure do miss you, Stinker Pants.

OCL-IHP Challenge Day (not a Five Minute Friday)

No Five Minute Friday card today because IHP is participating in OCL’s Challenge this week.  The challenge is to find an OCL card anywhere on the web (blogs, SCS, OCL Gallery) and CASE it with a different stamp set.  I decided to CASE Kendra’s card HERE and I recreated it using Tweet Trees.   And because it was Kendra, I HAD to paper piece my tree.  It’s what she would have done.  Trust me.  :)   *wink*

I used a strip of Upsy Daisy’s Majestic paper for the diagonal piece and then paper pieced using bits from BasicGrey’s Pyrus and popped them up with some dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting is Palette Landscape and finished it off with some natural twine thread.

OCL55-blog-pic If you’d like to play along (and have a chance to win a prize), add your direct link to the OCL Blog Challenge here.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check the rest of the IHP girls that are playing along:

And just a reminder, almost all of the older OCL sets are on sale, along with lots of other goodies because I’m trying to clear out space for the recent CHA items that have been arriving almost daily!  I’m expecting the 12 new Sketch Copics  to arrive next week.  Be sure to check Facebook for up to the date notices and sign up for the newsletter on the right side of the homepage so you don’t miss anything!

Have a great weekend!

Happy birthday Tammy: Have A Great Day

Happy birthday Tammy! Today’s card is part of a special happy birthday blog hop, organized by Barbara Anders for Tammy. You should have come here from Dee's blog, so if you're lost go back to Barbara's and start at the beginning.

Tammy is a great friend and a former DT member for my Chicken Girl stamp line. She’s also an incredibly talented stamper and Copic colorer.

For my card I used the new My Cute Stamps Ashley’s Blooms, some Zva bling for the butterfly tail and a greeting from Unity’s Could I Be Any Cuter? set. The inks are Palette Belle Rose and Landscape. The ribbon is just a scrap from my stash.

I encourage you to hop through and see all the amazing cards in honor of Tammy and be sure to stop by Tammy’s blog and leave her some birthday love. :) Thanks for hopping and stopping in today! I am your last stop on the hop! Great job if you went all the way through!
