Five Minute Friday: You’re So Sweet Pie

Happy Friday my friends!  I can’t believe how fast January has flown by.  Next week is February already!  YIKES!  Maybe it’s because since Christmas we’ve gotten something like 60” of snow.   Good thing I {heart} snow!

Tomorrow is the start of CHA and although I am not out in Cali this time around I’m been making my shopping list.  If there’s anything you’d like to me to consider ordering please be sure to leave a comment here or over on Facebook

For my quicky card today I used the latest Mint Motif Set, Sweet Hearts, stamped in Palette Burnt Umber and colored with Copics, layered on some Circle Nesties and then added some Cinnamon Stickles.  I added a leftover scrap of the latest BasicGrey paper, Hopscotch.  The bling is from my stash from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!  And remember to let me know what you’re most looking forward to from all the sneak peeks you’ve seen for CHA!

Five Minute Friday: Thinking of You Tree

Hello and Happy Friday!  I hope you had a wonderful week!

Today’s card is super quick.  I used a piece of the backside of Strawberry Kisses paper for the polka dot pattern, stamped the greeting from Very Square Sentiments in Palette Burnt Umber and then slapped an Indian Summer Woolies on there.  Tada!  It seriously could not be any faster and I love it that way.  Sometimes you just need quick and easy!

I got a few new deliveries in this week so be sure to check the new section of the website.  There’s also a ton on sale, in preparation for all of the new CHA goodies that will be revealed soon but be sure to check that out as well.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great weekend!

DT Challenge: You’re So Sweet Frame

This month’s DT Challenge theme was a inspiration photo from this amazing candy shoppe. And of course, I immediately reached for the latest Mint Motif set, Sweet Hearts. The candy was so inspiration but in conjunction with their little logo, I came up with this project.

I used a little shadowbox frame that I scored many, many years ago to alter. It’s been kicking around all this time and it was perfect for what I had in mind. I covered the edges with Pink Fabric Tape, stamped the gumball machine in Palette Noir and the hearts in various Palette colors. I colored it with Copics and added some Silver Stickles on the metal parts of the machine and covered the ball part with Glossy Accents. I hand cut the banner and stamped the heart edge also in Palette. I alternated “coloring” those hearts with Yellow and Pink Petal Liquid Pearls.

Be sure to visit the rest of the team to see their sweet creations!

Sweethearts: Mint Motif Five Minute Friday Release Day

Hello! Happy Friday and happy Mint Motif release day! Yay!

Today I am showing you another card made with the newest release (possibly my favorite!) called Sweet Hearts.

Isn’t it CUTE?!! For my Five Minute Friday card I used the candy jar, stamped it three times in Palette Noir and then stamped the little heart candies in Palette L’Amour Red, Boudoir Blush and Toile Pink. The greeting is also stamped in Palette.

Then I layered it on a rectangle Nesties scallop and then added a knotted piece of scalloped red ribbon (both elements left over from my Christmas cards this year). I finished it off by adding a dot of silver Stickles in each corner and on the jar lids and then putting some Glossy Accents on the jars.

Be sure to visit the rest of the design team, including our special guest, Kimber McGray!

Kimberly will be giving away one of these new sets to a lucky winner, chosen from all the blog comments left on today’s posts - so the more you comment, the better your chances at winning!

Color Throwdown #124 for Katie Renz

Today’s Color Throwdown is being dedicated to Katie Renz. If you don’t know Katie, (you should – she’s an AMAZING stamper) please, please take a few minutes to go to her blog and read her story. Katie was very recently diagnosed with Stage IV Gastic cancer. She’s married to Kevin and they’ve got 3 little boys (the twins, Nate & Will, aged 5 and Hunter, aged 10) and had this bombshell drop on them right before Christmas. She is currently undergoing chemo, which is her only option.

So, today’s CT is dedicated to her and I would like to urge each and every one of you to encourage her and send her a card. If you would like to send her a card, you can leave me a comment with your email and I’ll send it to you. For those of you who (honor system) commit to sending her a card, you will be eligible to win some prizes, donated both by me and by the members of the CT team.

swatch124There are also two other ways you can help Katie. If you’d like to donate cash – any amount will help – for her mounting medical bills, Craft Critique has set up a fund here. Really, just $5 would be amazing. If all of my subscribers, Google followers, customers, sent in just $5, we could raise thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars for her and her family.

The other way is to visit Jak’s blog. She’s set up a digi fundraiser and you can get all the details here.

I know this community is an amazing bunch of people. Won’t you please help?

My card today uses the upcoming Mint Motif set (available starting Friday) called Sweet Hearts. I also used a piece of the new BG Hopscotch paper, oval Nesties, Icicle Stickles, Copics, Classic Scalloped Petite Borderabilities, and some brown faux suede and light fuschia faux suede ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please go read Katie’s blog and send her a card of encouragement! Thank you.

Celebrate 2011: Happy New Year!

Just a quickie card to wish you all the best for 2011. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to serving you in 2011!

For this card I used Mint Motif’s I’ve Got Your Number, paperpiecing the numbers from SEI’s Gazebo paper. Then I used a Zva word crystal for the “celebrate”. I die-cut my focal mat from a Long Rectangle Nesties and added silver Stickles on each scallop for more bling and then I finally finished it off with a little silver bow in the corner.

Happy New Year! I hope it is your best ever!
