DT Challenge Spotlight Winner: Ashley

Hello!! If you hopped along with our DT Challenge last week, where we spotlighted one of IHP’s exclusive lines, Mint Motif, you know we asked you to join us by choosing a card from the hop to inspire you and then create your own version. We had several great entries (Thank you so much for playing along. We hope to do it more in the future!) but today’s I’m spotlighting Ashley’s card. She was inspired by Lori’s card and even used the Mint Motif School Basics set. She also used some Authentique Celebrate paper.

If you don’t know Ashley, you should spend some time on her blog. She is currently the design team coordinator for Whisker Graphics (Divine Twine) and is on several other teams including Love My Tapes, who makes the fabulous fabric and lace tapes (new CHA goodies arriving from them soon!).

So thank you to everyone who played along. I’d love to hear your suggestions on what sort of challenges you like best and what would get you to play along. Have a great rest of the week!

DT Challenge: Mint Motif

dt0312

Today’s DT Challenge features one of IHP’s exclusive lines, Mint Motif (which just had 2 new releases last week!) So today, the team is showcasing various Mint Motif sets.

My card today uses Beyond Borders (which was recently featured in the Paper Crafts Stamp It 3 Ways issue) and one of the new releases, Simply Sentiments, as well as the Cameo from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. I stamped the border in Memento ink and then diecut the cameo using the new Floral Ovals Nesties. I added some Zva bling and then some faux suede white ruffled ribbon layered with some black crepe ribbon.

Be sure to hop along and and play along! Make a project inspired by one of the ones you see here along the hop and a winner will be featured here on my blog next Tuesday. Link up using the Mr. Linky at the end of the post by 6 p.m. EST Sunday (that way you have the weekend to work on your post). Your project doesn’t have to use Mint Motif but bonus points if you do! :) Here’s the rest of the team for inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by. There’s tons of new stuff from CHA still arriving so check the new section. Make sure you’re signed up for the newsletter too (I give away a $10 gift certificate each month to a random subscriber but you have to be signed up and read it to claim it!). Sign up on the right side of the homepage. :)

Have a great day!

Kimberly Crawford

For my card today I used one of the borders from Beyond Borders, Too, stamped in Memento ink, alternating pink and black. (Tip:  start with your centermost one and work out so your pattern is evenly spaced.)  Then I hand cut a pennant for the greeting from Simply Sentiments.  Then I used from Angel Pink Fireworks to dye my Tim Holtz Trimmings ribbon and added some Zva bling as the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

For my project today I used the polka dots from Beyond Borders, Too, stamped in Memento ink.  I also stamped numbers from I’ve Got Your Number and colored with Stickles and Copics.  Then I used my scallop from Spellbinders Classic Edges One Edgeabilities to create the edge and some circle Nesties.  I finished it by stamping the greeting from Simply Sentiments in Palette ink and added some white ruffled faux suede ribbon layered with some yellow scalloped velvet ribbon

Be sure to stop in and see the other projects that the rest of the DT has for you:

Introducing Mint Motif: Beyond Borders, Too and Simply Sentiments!

Hello!  I am SO excited to be able to share two new Mint Motif sets with you today!  They are available exclusively at IHP and are only $12 each for a 4”x6” high quality peachy clear photopolymer set.

After our wildly popular, Beyond Borders, Kimberly decided to design a new, trendy companion set of borders, Beyond Borders, Too

I love the spacing and size of the polka dots.  It’s nice as a single border or easy to line up to create a background or cover a wider area.

And of course honeycomb is so popular and trendy now.  This honeycomb easily lines up so you can create any size you need.  Or you can simply stamp it once and hand draw the edge lines with a multiliner if you’re not stamping along the edge of your paper.

Our next set is Simply Sentiments, a versatile, go-to horizontal greetings set.  I love the clean font and the choice of sentiments.  They are so much more than just a basic “thank you.”  They say what you really want to say in a crisp, clean font with a little bit of style that can be used on a variety of design styles.   I also like that you could bend them or ink up parts of them in different colors (as I did on my sample!)

This set is an especially great companion to the two Beyond Border sets because of their length.

For my sample today, I used a kraft base, stamped the honeycomb from Beyond Borders, Too in Memento ink as the focal piece and then stamped the heart border from another Mint Motif set, Sweet Hearts in Palette to create my background.  Then I added a resin heart, popped up with some dimensional dots, stamped my greeting in two colors and then finished off with some red twine

We’re spreading the release day projects out over the next few days so be sure to stop in and see projects here each day!  Today’s lineup also includes projects from:

Kimberly Crawford
AJ Otto
Latisha Yoast
Ryann Salamon

Thanks for stopping by!  I’d love to hear what you think about these two new sets!  See you tomorrow!

Hello! I am SO excited to be sharing a sneak peek today from the two upcoming Mint Motif releases, Beyond Borders, Too (a companion set to the wildly popular Beyond Borders) and a new sentiment set, Simply Sentiments. Both will be available March 12, exclusively at IHP.
For today’s CAS card I used a rainbow of Memento inks and a little scrap of yellow silk ribbon that I folded over to make it the width I wanted it to be and then added a matching rainbow of Stickles on each intersecting circle point.
