Five Minute Friday: Joyful Snowman

Hello!  I’m back for a quick card using the Market Street Stamps Joyful Snowman.  I stamped it in Memento ink directly on some Echo Park Country Drive paper and then added some pink, orange and icicle Stickles as accents.  I finished it off with some awesome new self-adhesive ivory lace tape.  I LOVE this stuff.  LOVE.

NEW_WCMD_2009 Anyway, that’s it!  Tomorrow (Saturday) is World Card Making Day.  I’ll be doing random giveaways on Facebook and it’s the start of our Birthday Bash kickoff, so be sure to check in either here or on Facebook so you don’t miss out on any of the festivities!

Thanks for stopping in!  Have a great weekend!

Operation Julie’s Smile

OJS

Many may know that a few weeks ago, Julie Ranae had to have emergency oral surgery resulting in the removal of her two front teeth. The dentist at that time believed the best course of action would be to remove the rest of her teeth and replace them with permanents. (as to avoid *years* of dental work) Relieved at finding a solution to this major dental problem .. she visited the office for dental surgery the week. Unfortunately, it wasn't the visit she was expecting. After the consultation and scheduling the surgery, the surgeon's office informed her that she would need to bring $4000 back to the appointment with her and they would proceed. This amount would not include the dentures to follow.

Here Julie is today, sitting without front teeth that were pulled with the belief that they would be replaced immediately.  It is an overwhelming experience for our dear friend and one that I hope our creative community can help with.

There will be a benefit blog hop called 'Operation Julie's Smile'
that will take place Oct 7-9.  There are a variety of companies (including yours truly!) and design teams who will be participating in this hop to help raise funds for this benefit.

So far, over $1000 in prizes have been made available (including an i {heart} papers gift certificate!) and will be awarded for both participants and those who donate.

Operation Julie's Smile is now asking for designers/teams who would like to be a part  of the benefit hop.

If you are interested in getting involved in this creative fundraising event, please contact Nicole Rixon at nicolehrixon@gmail.com

The deadline to be a part of the hop is Wednesday, Sept 28th.  Participants will be notified of the blog hop order between Oct 3rd-5th.

This blog hop is an opportunity to have fun, feature your blog and raise money for a friend in need.

A donation button will be made available to all who participate.

Every little bit helps and each donation that comes in makes it possible for Julie to regain a true smile.

DT Challenge: New goodies!

Hello!  I finally stamped a project!  Can you believe it?  Well, it’s time for our monthly IHP DT Challenge and this month we’re featuring new goodies since there are so many new things in the new section of the store.  Wow…how many times can I say new during this blog post?  *grin*

I used the Joyful Snowman set from Market Street Stamps.  This is one of the new lines I picked up after CHA and right now I am the only retailer selling them (besides MSS themselves) in the US.  How exciting is that?  I stamped him in Memento black and colored his nose with Copics.  I popped him and the greeting up on Sticky Thumb dimensionals.   Did you see my video on how awesome those things are?  You can see it here.

I used a Lifestyle Crafts A2 Snowflake embossing folder for the background and sprayed it with new Summer Sky Fireworks.   It didn’t photograph very well but here’s a close-up.  If you look really closely you can see a very light blue shimmer.  In real life, it’s gorgeous.  These Fireworks coordinate with the all  the Memento colors.

Finally I added some torn vellum and dazzled the edges (and the scarf) with some Icicle Stickles.  Clean, simple and cute!  I hope you’ll hop along to see what the rest of the team has in store for you!

Five Minute Friday: Make A Wish

Hello!  Long time no blogging, right?  Wow…thanks for sticking with me.  All these deliveries have been unbelievably time consuming to get into the store and then the orders!  You sure do love new stuff!  *grin*

So, I FINALLY got a very brief stint in my studio this week…just enough time to throw together this little ensemble.  No stamping.  That’s why it was 5 minutes.  :)  It’s all stickers and paper from the new Country Drive Collection Pack from Echo Park.   I used i {stick} papers to adhere to polka dot paper to the jar.  It’s a little gift for a dear friend of mine in NC.  The cookies are her favorite from a local NJ bakery by me, so I stopped and got a pound of them and put this together and dropped it in the mail for her!

So, anyway, there you have it!  Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in!  And, don’t forget to check the new section of the store.  I’ll be back on Tuesday with our monthly DT Challenge

Wow…I’ve been MIA.

I just crawled out from under my rock…err…CHA deliveries and realized I haven’t blogged in about 2 weeks.  Well, there’s a good reason for it…I haven’t stamped at all!  Isn’t that awful?  It’s for a good reason – LOTS of CHA arrivals, almost 200 in the new section of the store means lots of website work getting all those new goodies online and then that results in lots of orders.  Luckily for you, my priority is getting those orders out over my own stamping sanity.  So…that’s my excuse.

Do you forgive me?  I’ll try to get into the studio this week but in the meantime, don’t forget you can always visit my fabulous design team.  They’ve been busy blogging with lots of new goodies, so check them out!
