Five Minute Friday: Be Mine collage

Happy Friday!  I have a little confession today.  I don’t usually “do” stickers.  Maybe it’s a holdover from my SU! days (they weren’t called stickers they were “self-adhesive repositionable die-cuts”).

Anyway, I decided to try to work through that issue and made this little collage card using elements from the Echo Park Paper Be Mine line.  It’s very French and pink and I love it!

This card wasn’t even 5 minutes.  It was probably about 2 – TOPS!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great weekend!  See you again soon.

My Cute Stamps: Birdcage from Branch

Hello!  I had a very crafty weekend!  I hope you did too!  On Saturday I had an extended visit from Mr. Mojo and together we made 10 cards in one day!  Woo-hoo!  I love when it all comes together, don’t you?

I’m so excited to show you my first card using Ashley’s Blooms from My Cute Stamps, one of the newest lines I picked up during CHA.  I love how elegant it is and I can’t always “do” elegant, so I’m glad this one makes it easy!

I stamped the branch in Palette Haystack and the butterflies/birds  in Palette Belle Rose.  I went over all the pink elements with Frosted Lace Stickles.  Then I stamped the little “merci” greeting from Chelsea Sentiments and finished it off with some pink crepe ribbon.

The birdcage is cut out and popped up on some dimensionals.

Deliveries from CHA are arriving several times a week so be sure to check the Facebook page or the new page to stay on top of things.  This past two weeks My Cute Stamps, Echo Park Paper, Unity, Hero Arts, Scor-Pal, new Stickles colors, Graphic45 papers and these handmade crocheted floss flowers (available in white, ivory and multicolor assortment packs), made just for IHP!, have all arrived and there is plenty more coming.  So check in often because these new goodies tend to go fast!

Thanks for stopping in!  See you again soon!

Five Minute Friday: Stuck On You

Happy Friday!  Quickie card for you today using the banana from Fruity Family Felties, layered on an oval Nesties.  I used a sentiment from Mint Motif’s Sweet Hearts stamped in Palette Noir and Paris Yellow.  I curved the sentiment on my block (one of my favorite things to do with clear stamps).  The mat panel is embossed with A2 Polka Dots pattern embossing folder.

Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in today!

So long, farewell…

Kate, cathleen, Lori. Lynn, Deb and Carolyn I’m keeping with my Sound of Music theme from the DT Challenge yesterday, as I say a sad good-bye to one of my inaugural design team members and former Dirty Dozen (she was with me first…tee hee!), Cathleen. She has decided to step down from the team due to growing family commitments, but she will always have an incredibly special place in my heart.

DTdinner2

Here we are at our CHA DT dinner from Chicago 2010. On the left is Cathleen’s daughter, Sara, who just got engaged this past weekend! This was such a fun evening and Cathleen completely made it all happen. I still think about this night and all the fun (and alcohol) we had.

cathleen Not only is Cathleen an amazing person and friend, but she is beyond talented and has such a flair for elegance and detail in her stamping. I mean, look at these recent projects! It’s no wonder she was picked as a Dirty Girl!

So, it is with a heavy heart that I say good-bye but I encourage you to visit her gallery over at SCS and be in awe yourself or stop by her blog and let her know yourself!

Thank you, my friend for your years of dedication and for helping me get this crazy adventure off the ground! You’ll be missed but I know where to find you! {group hug}…please pass the tissues.

DT Challenge: Inspired By A Story

This month’s DT Challenge was a tough one! Deb challenged us to base our project on a story so I picked one of my all-time favorite movies, The Sound of Music. I’m sure you’ve all seen it but it is a fantastic love story and full of amazing music. So, for my project I made a card, inspired by one of the most famous scenes – the one where Julie Andrews makes clothes from the curtains in her room. The music curtains pattern on the curtains reminded me of one of the patterns in Echo Park’s Be Mine paper. I created little curtains, added some pom-pom trim for the header and tethered them with some 1/4” ivory silk. I mounted them on another piece of Be Mine paper and had a musical love greeting from Singing Souls, stamped in Palette Charcoal, peeking through the “window".

Then, because I was baking Valentine’s Day cookies, I made a coordinating heart tin to go with the card.

I used more Be Mine paper (the sheet music) and more pom-pom trim to make my heart box all fancy. :) Here they are together. I hope you like my story based project and that you’ll go and hop along to the rest of the DT blogs. Here they are for you:

Five Minute Friday: Hopscotch Squares

Happy Friday!  Any big Valentine’s Day weekend plans?

Today’s card is super fast (I used some square scraps from Hopscotch paper) and layered it on a strip of white edged with Classic Scalloped Petite Borderabilities.  I simply added some Icicle Stickles on the flowers and then stamped a greeting from Very Square Sentiments in Palette Burnt Umber on a Circle Nesties.   The base is embossed with an A2 Flowers embossing folder.

CHA deliveries have started to trickle into the store and they will be picking up even more soon.  There are lots of items on sale to help clear out some room…lots of steep discount so get them while you can!

I hope you have a great weekend!  See you soon!

Five Minute Friday: For My Sweet Friend

Happy Friday!  Just a super quick card today using (again…are you tired of it yet) the latest Mint Motif set, Sweet Hearts.  I love, love, love this set. The pie is stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copics and then layered on some Oval Nesties.  I used some red twine, Zva alphabet bling, Stickles and Palette inks to finish it off.

Sorry I’ve been MIA.  I’ve been so bust ordering CHA goodies that I really haven’t been crafting much.  I got my first delivery yesterday – the new Graphic45 lines.  YIPPEE!  I know Scor-Pal shipped and that should be arriving next week.  Things are moving right along!

Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in!
