Five Minute Friday: Congratulations

I saw these cute little duckies from the new Puddle Jumpers Felties and immediately thought they’d make an adorable baby card.

I used a little strip of Lime Rickey paper and stamped the saying from Chelsea Sentiments in Palette Orangerie.

That’s it!  Totally NO frills!  Thanks for stopping by!  I know it hasn’t been very active here – I’m just working on lots of projects that I can’t quite show you yet.  But, that will all change soon!

I’ve got some Copics, Cosmo Cricket and some other deliveries scheduled for this week.  Make sure you’re a fan on Facebook so you know when they come in.  I update there as soon as things arrive!

I hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Hello Friend! Spring Giraffe digi

Despite my allergies, I enjoy Spring.  I enjoy seeing all the flowers pop up and the brown, empty trees turn into blossoming sources of allergens…er…flowers and leaves.

For my project I used one of the new Chicken Girl digis called Spring Giraffe.  I printed him out on Medium Weight Copic cardstock and then colored him in after I cut him out using my rectangle Nesties.  I used some paper Love Me Do (yup, it’s a Valentine’s line and I’m still using it!).

I stamped the greeting from Into the Forest in Palette Noir.  (Remember, once the Chicken Girl clear stamps are sold out, that’s it!  The line has moved to digi! )  The finishing touch was two little gemstones, a glimmer red bow in the corner and a little felt flower from my June Bug Woolies

Five Minute Friday: Sparkly Cupcakes CAS63

I’ll let you in on a little IHP secret here.  When I’m on top of my game (which has NOT been these past few weeks for various reasons) I’m usually scheduled here on the blog at least 2-3 weeks out.  So, what you see has usually been made ahead of time (not in the hours leading up to the post!)  So, for this reason, it’s not often that I play along with SCS CAS challenges.  But, this week was different.  Just a mere five or so hours ago I still hadn’t done my card for today’s post.   I hopped over to SCS to see the current CAS challenge and was thrilled when I saw it.  I immediately had a super quick idea and put this card together using some new Petaloo Cupcakes Dazzlers (they’re also available in pink/brown) and a new sentiment from Hero Arts Wonderful Birthday.  I stamped it in Palette Claret and it’s a perfect match for the fuchsia cupcake.  This card is blingy!  The glitter on the cupcakes is so sparkly and then I just had to go add some extra little bling around my sentiment.

I’ve got another busy weekend ahead of me.  And I’ve got pictures to share from my previous weekend but they’re not edited yet.

In case you don’t follow us on Facebook (why not??) be sure to check out the new section for this week’s latest arrivals.  New paper pads from Memory Box, new Stampavie, a Copic replenishment (Copic is running about 6 weeks behind and is is very backordered so you will still see some colors missing) and a few other things.

Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Showers bring flowers…DT Challenge

You know the saying – April Showers bring May Flowers, right?  Well, that’s what we’re hoping for and that’s what this month’s DT Challenge is all about!  Flowers!

For my project I used one of the new Chicken Girl digis called Doggie in the Rain.  I printed him out on Medium Weight Copic cardstock and then colored him in after I cut him out using my Labels Two.  I used some paper from Lime Rickey because I loved the blues and yellows and when I think rain slicker, I think yellow!  The turquoise designer paper is from Marrakech.  I used my Big Scalloped Petite Borderabilities and then glazed all the rain and puddles using Glossy Accents.  The finishing touch was two little gemstones and the blingy felt flower from my June Bug Woolies.  So I have April Showers AND Flowers in my challenge card.  Does that make me extra special?

Be sure to stop by the rest of the design team to see their take on this challenge.  And, feel free to play along.  Just upload your card to SCS and/or PCP and tag it ihp0410 so we can find it!

Five Minute Friday: Nuts about you!

Happy Friday!  Boy, am I glad it is Friday.  It was a looooong week!  And, this weekend I’ve got lots of fun plans including furniture shopping to finish off the living room, a trip to an amazing herb farm that I get my garden herbs from and a good friend’s show where he has the lead role!  It’s going to be a fun-filled, busy weekend.

The newsletter is going out tonight and you don’t want to miss out so be sure to sign up (if you’re not already) on the homepage

For today’s card I used a piece of SEI Jocelyn paper and paired it with Into the Forest, one of the Chicken Girl clear sets we still have left.  I stamped the squirrel and sentiment in Palette Burnt Umber.  I curved the sentiment on my block to make it match my circle Nesties and then layered it on my Big Scallop Circles Large

I had some untwined hemp from a failed card attempt last week that I saved and used here.  I finished it off with some bling in the little holes that the Big Scalloped Petite Borderabilities made when I cut my edge.

That’s it!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I’ll be back on Tuesday with our monthly DT Challenge.   Be sure to check the new page on the store in the new few days.  I’ve gotten a lot of shipping notices the past few days, which means new goodies are going to be here very soon!  Become a fan on Facebook for up to the minute updates on when they arrive!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring is here!

Hello! I have another Chicken Girl digi card for you today!

I printed Springing Bunny on my Copic Medium Weight paper and then colored it in.

The panel of designer paper is from SEI’s Happy Day line. (Don’t forget about our exclusive coordinating buttons for that line!) I did a little paper piercing with my standard tool in the corners and then added a tiny 1/4” light blue silk bow in the corner. Done!

Have a great day! Thanks for checking in here!

Cuckoo: Here for you anytime!

I’ve been eyeing this clock  from the new Hero Arts Cuckoo set for a while.  I really want a cuckoo clock in my next house.  REALLY.  Anyway, I think they’re very folksy and this quilty paper from Marrakech was the perfect pairing.  The blues and oranges…they screamed out to me to be used with this clock.  So, I couldn’t disappoint them!  The clock is stamped in Palette Burnt Umber and the greeting in Prussian Blue.  Then I colored it in and glazed it with some Crackle Accents to give it a weathered, aged look.  I didn’t have any coordinating brads so I punched out two elements from the designer paper, popped them up and covered them with Glossy Accents to make my own little “glazed brads.”  The scallops on the Oval Nesties are dotted with my Inkssentials White pen

I know it’s not very springy or pastelly (I totally made that word up) but do you like it?

Just a quick store product update while you’re here.  The new Pink Paislee 365 Degrees 6x6 pads are now in stock as well as a restocking on the recent Queen Bee and Bayberry Cottage lines and Artisian Elements - Swirls.

aprilunitykits The new April Unity Stampin’ Store kits arrive tomorrow.  There’s been a slight change to them.  You can still get the whole kit, Super Sweet & Stuck on You) as you have (just NOT in the Scraponizer box) or you can now buy Half Kits.  Each month the whole kit will be divided into two HALF KITS – A (total cuteness) & B (sew cute).  You save a few bucks if you get the whole shebang but the half kits are a great option if you aren’t looking for the whole set.

The whole kit is shown here and you can see the division of the two half kits.  The full kit is $37 or each half kit is $20.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a good day!

Chicken Girl - new digis!

Hello and happy Friday! It’s Chicken Girl release day so I threw together this little ditty using the new Raccoon Flowers digi, available TODAY! This month we’ve got three new images for you and you can buy them individually for $2.50 or you can get the whole April Collection (seen here) for only $6.50.

For my card I had printed out all the images a few days ago on Copic Medium Weight cardstock so I grabbed the sheet and cut out the image using my Circle Nesties, quickly colored it and then made a mat using my new Big Scalloped Circles Large.

I stamped the greeting from Mini Messages in Palette Belle Rose. A quick faux suede ribbon knot and some bling finished it off!

Be sure to stop by the rest of the design team today for their samples! I’ll have more for you later in the month!

Five Minute Friday: Gobble Up The Creamsicle!

Hello! Happy Friday! Sorry about the post mix up this morning. I had in my head that today was the 10th, which is Chicken Girl release day. So…when I was making cards yesterday I made a cute Five Minute Friday card using the new CGD digis and scheduled it. And then realized that today wasn’t the day! So, some of you might have caught a peek! For the rest of you, you have to wait until tomorrow!

So, in my scramble to recover from my goof I quickly put this card together. I used the creamsicle image from Unity’s Mix Up of Cuteness, quickly colored it with Prisma pencils and then put some Rock Candy Stickles on it. The greeting is from Silly Monsters and I love the little bite marks, which mimic the bite taken out of the popsicle. Yum! Both the greeting and image are stamped in Palette Noir.

The mat for the image was cut from the new Big Scalloped Circles Small Nesties. I finished it off with some sheer ruffled white ribbon.

That’s it! Sorry about the delay and the goof this morning! Be sure to check back tomorrow for the official CGD release! :)

Have a great day!

Five Minute Friday will be coming!

I had my days messed up when I scheduled my posts. The post I had for today is really for tomorrow so I'll be a little late with FMF today. Check back later! Thanks!

Chicken Girl Design: Spring Squirrel

We’re gearing up for a new Chicken Girl digi release in a few days but I wanted to share this cutie.  The warm weather has started to make my garlic sprout up recently and my koi pond plants are starting to get green!  Spring is definitely here!

I printed Spring Squirrel on my Copic Medium Weight paper and then colored it in.  The paper is from the Basic Grey Kioshi pack.  I love the pastely spring colors!  The border is cut with my new Jumbo Scalloped Petite Borderabilities.  The circle and rectangle are from my trusty Nesties.  The little gems were the final touch.  A pretty simple and springy card!

The next newsletter will be going out next week so make sure you’re on our list!  If you’re not, you can sign up on our homepage.  And while you’re signing up for things, be sure you’re our fan on Facebook.  I always post up to the minute information about deliveries I get or am expecting there first and you don’t want to miss any of it!

Elsie’s Shower Treats

A few weeks ago I was asked to make a few bridal shower favors so I threw together these quick Hershey Kiss boxes. They’re super fast and can really be made for any occasion. Just take 1/4 sheet of cardstock and score it along the 4 1/4" side at 1 1/4", 2 1/4", and 3 1/2". Then I always use i {stick} papers so I know they won’t fall apart. The box fits 5 Kisses.

Sorry for the short post today. I’m off and running! I feel like I’m straight out of Alice In Wonderland, running, running, running!

I had a wonderful time in Washington DC this past weekend. Here's a couple of my favorite shots:

Thanks for popping in!

Some bunny loves you: Juggling Bunny

I LOVE these Chicken Girl digis.  I can’t decide which is my favorite.  This adorable little bunny is definitely leading the pack.  I used the greeting and flower from OCL’s Hippity Hoppity (stamped in Palette Noir) and my new Big Oval Scallop Large Nestie.  Then I used some random leftover Zva bling (from when I cut apart flourishes), some Stickles on the eggs and finished it off with some striped sheer black and pink ribbon.

Oh, and see the bottom of the card?  I used the edge of my Labels 8 to create that shape.  Isn’t it pretty?  It’s so subtle but really makes this card, I think.  *grin*

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Five Minute Friday: Sending Smiles

Hi!  Just a super quick post for today as I’m rushing to pack and get ready for the Easter weekend.  I’ll be heading down to visit DT member Lori (and hopefully the new puppy Chloe) with Mr. Barbo.  We’re going to take in all the gorgeous Cherry Blossoms in DC and finally meet up with the amazing pilot who helped rescue Mr. Barbo from the kill shelter in Illinois.  So, we’re going to have a fun weekend!

Today’s card uses one of the flowers from June Bug Woolies and then I stamped the greeting in Palette L’Amour Red.  I finished it off with a piece of Yellow Glimmer Ribbon and that’s it.  I love one layer cards when they work out!

I hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping in!  See you next week!
