Five Minute Friday: Very Square (in a new way)

For today’s Five Minute Friday card I used Very Square in a new way – to create a pattern band and then used Very Square Sentiments in the middle (OK, not quite the middle, but you know what I mean!).  I stamped them in Palette Orangerie and colored in parts with my Copics, all on Copic Medium Weight paper.  It makes a modern CAS card and definitely a FMF card.  I’ll be heading back from Chicago this weekend after my whirlwind week with my girls at CHA.  I’ll do a wrap-up for you in a bit and be sure to watch the newsletter and the Facebook page for updates.

Have a great weekend!

Cake Shoppe meets Summer Garden

Last night at CHA was our DT dinner. As always, it was a blast! I’ll have some pictures when I return. In the meantime, here’s a card for you that combines some of our exclusive stamps, Cake Shoppe and Summer Garden. I stamped the cake in Palette Paris Lights and the topper (and sentiment) in Palette Noir and then colored them with my Copics. The piping is Liquid Pearls Opal White. I added a few pearls for accent and some Crystal Stickles on the topper for some shine. The white satin ribbon has been a staple of mine lately!

I just love the clean look of this but I think it is a little elegant with all the white and the Square Nesties layers.

I hope you’re having a great day! I know I am, looking at all the new goodies! Thanks for stopping by today!

CHA bound: Blast Off!

Well, I’m leaving on a jet plane today for CHA so I thought this new image from the July Collection of Chicken Girl Designs was appropriate.  Isn’t this little Blast Off image adorable?!  I printed it on Copic Heavyweight cardstock and then colored him with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I used some Opal Liquid Pearls on the jet exhaust and finished off the little card with a piece of orange glimmer ribbon and some Glossy Accents on the window.
OK…I’m off very soon!  Be sure to check the Facebook page for updates (hopefully) and remember, all orders placed this week will not ship out until Monday August 2.  Thanks for understanding!

Five Minute Friday: Summer Garden Thanks

Just a super quick card for you today.  I’m rushing around getting ready for CHA next week.

This is a small note card using Summer Garden.  I love the little teacup in this set so I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and quickly colored it with Copics.  I used my vellum piercing tool to pierce my Oval Nesties and the corners.  Tada!

I will (hopefully) have some posts scheduled for next week while I’m away and if reception in the Convention Center is good maybe I’ll even post some updates from there on the IHP Facebook page!

Store note:  Orders WILL NOT be shipping beginning Monday July 26.  All orders received next week will ship on Monday August 2.

Thanks for stopping by!

DT Challenge: Use it up!

Hi there!  I’ve got another Summer Garden and Happy Harvest sample for you today for our DT Challenge.  As you probably can tell from the sale page, I’m trying to sell off a lot of items in preparation for CHA next week (eek!).  So, this month for the DT challenge they were asked to use up some of their stash – to show off what great things you can make with last year’s stuff!

For my card I stamped the peonies/roses from Summer Garden in Memento Tuxedo Black on Copic Heavyweight paper, colored  them with Copics and cut them.  Then I stamped the hurricane lamp from Happy Harvest and surrounded it with the roses.  I made a little cheater bow from some Pink Herringbone ribbon (love this stuff!).  The DP is from the Porcelain Collection and I used my Jumbo Scalloped Petite Borderabilities for the luscious big scallops.  I also added some little pearls at each valley of the scallops.

I used my Oval Nesties for the focal image and that is laid over some White Crochet ribbon that I dyed with my Copics.

I love the greeting (stamped in Palette Toile Pink) and how it curves over the top of the focal image.  You can easily do this because each of the words is its own stamp in both Summer Garden and Happy Harvest and the fonts are the same so they are meant to coordinate so you have more phrase possibilities.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful weekend full of LOTS of fun and food. I have a quick post for you today and then tomorrow be sure to check back for our monthly DT Challenge.
I LOVE this little chicky Sending Some Love image from the Chicken Girl June Collection. The chick just looks SO happy to be putting that (handmade) card in the mail. It’s like she’s a stamper! HAHA!
As always, I printed the image out on Copic Heavyweight paper and then I colored it with my Copics. I used my Oval Nesties and added some bling to give it some sparkle. The DP is from Lime Rickey.
Thanks for stopping by today! See you again soon!

Five Minute Friday: Mint Motif Strawberry Shaped card

Hello! With all the heat lately, we’ve been partaking in lots of local, fresh yummy fruit and I was inspired by the yumminess to create this strawberry shaped card. I freehand cut it, embossed with my A2 Polka Dot folder and then sponged over it with some Palette New Canvas ink. I used my Square Nesties for the focal point and stamped off the dot background from Very Square in Palette L’Amour Red and then stamped the greeting from Very Square Sentiments (now back in stock!) in Palette Noir. I made the strawberry top from some ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’re having a great day! It’s my birthday so I’m planning on a very good day! Have a great weekend!

Mint Motif Release Day: Cake Shoppe and Cake Shoppe Too!

Hello! Big day here at IHP today! It’s Mint Motif release day! I hope you’ve enjoyed the sneak peeks of Cake Shoppe and Cake Shoppe Too! this past week. And today is the big reveal!

Here they are along with my card. You can obviously use them independently but with both sets you can make a 3 tier cake and have all the sentiments. For my card today I used the two biggest tiers.

I stamped them in Palette Belle Rose and Burnt Umber and then colored the cakes in with Prismacolor pencils. I cut out the topper and popped it up. I used a strip of SEI’s Claire paper and a piece of Venise Lace along with my Oval Nesties.

mm003mm004Be sure to stop by the design team blogs. We’ll be drawing a winner to win both sets from all of the comments left on today’s posts.

Sending Some Love, CGD Style

Hi! Today I’ve got a little card I made using one of the June Chicken Girl digis called Sending Some Love. It is printed on Copic Heavyweight cardstock and colored with Copics. I freehand cut the little banner with the greeting. I used my Labels Eleven for the focal image, layered on some Happy Day paper and then my Classic Scalloped Petite Borderabilities for the bottom trim. I used my heart Nesties for an accent and finished it off with some white satin ribbon.
Thanks for stopping in! Be sure to check back on Wednesday for the first sneak peak of the newest Mint Motif stamps! So exciting! Don’t forget to keep checking the sale page!

Chicken Girl Release Day: Gone Fishin’

Today is Chicken Girl release day! Yippee! We’ve got four new adorable images for this month’s July Collection. Each digi is available for $2.50 each or you can get the whole collection for a great discounted price of only $8.50. What a deal!
My card today uses Gone Fishin’. Isn’t this little kitty adorable? The image is printed on Copic Heavyweight paper and colored with Copics and cut with my Rectangle Nesties. I cropped out the little fish to create my little embellishments. I used a piece of ancient printed vellum from my stash to create my water and die-cut it with my July_stamps_allJumbo Scalloped Petite Borderabilities and used a piece of white satin ribbon. Very simple but very cute, right?
Be sure to check the rest of the design team today for their release cards. And, after a brief hiatus, I’m excited to welcome back Judy to the team so be sure to stop by and welcome her back too!

Five Minute Friday: So Sweet CASE (of myself!)

Happy Friday! Did you enjoy all the sneak peeks on Wednesday for the latest Mint Motif sets? I sure hope so! I know I did!

Today’s card is a complete CASE of this card that I made a few weeks ago except I used the watermelon from Fruity Family Felties and stamped the greeting from Very Square Sentiments in Palette L’Amour Red. I used the red/white polka dot ribbon and some Hero Arts Blossoms bling to the corners. TADA! Yup, I totally cheated but it was a cute card and I wanted/needed another one! *grin* I hope you’re not too disappointed. Tee hee.

Thanks for stopping in today. Don’t forget to check the sale page often. I’m adding new items every day! Check in tomorrow for Chicken Girl release day! Have a great weekend!

Cake Shoppe Sneak Peek

Hello!!! Today is a big day! We’re beginning the sneak peeks of the two newest releases from Mint Motif, Cake Shoppe and Cake Shoppe Too! And, we (being IHP/Chicken Girl) is proud to also be co-sponsoring this week’s Color Throwdown 100th post celebration along with tons of other past sponsors. So, my card today uses (some of) the CT colors for the challenge.

swatch 100

We are releasing two coordinating sets, although they can be used on their own – you just don’t get as many options. *grin* I paper pieced a 3 tier cake from Happy Day papers and stamped the polka dot overlay on them. I used Palette Belle Rose and Reflection Blue. The I trimmed the piped flowers and popped everything up on some Circle Nesties. I embossed another piece of Happy Day paper (it’s supposed to be the certainly celery color but it is a little more tan than green now that I look at it) using my A2 Polka Dot folder, layered the backside of some more Happy Day paper (can you tell I love this line???) on top and and then finished it off with a long vertical wrap of ivory faux suede ruffled ribbon and some Crystal Stickles on the flower centers.

I hope you play along with Color Throwdown this week. They’ve got tons of great prizes to give away. And I really hope you check out the rest of the Mint Motif design team to see their posts. Here are the links for you! Stop by and give them some love.

Chicken Girl: Sizzling Good Time!

I thought this would be a good card for all the celebrations happening this long weekend.  But, I am a vegetarian so this little Chicken Girl cow, Sizzling Good Time from the June Collection is grilling veggie burgers for me!  :)  I used my rectangle Nesties and some orange silk ribbon because it paired so perfectly with the Max and Whiskers paper. The image is printed on Copic Heavyweight paper and colored with Copics.
Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you’re relaxing and enjoying the long weekend!  See you again soon!  I’ll be back on Wednesday for the sneak peek of the next Mint Motif stamps!

Five Minute Friday: Missed You Bird

Happy Friday!  I am in love with this card.  I even submitted it to PC but (obviously) they didn’t pick it up.  I love how simple and cute it is and how scallopy everything is.  I love my Nesties.  The bird is from the Chicken Girl set Birthday Wishes, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I popped him up on a foam dot and freehand pierced the little trail behind him with my Vellum Piercer Tool.  I like this one instead of the standard tool because it is a little thinner, so you get smaller dots.  The clouds are stamped in Palette Seascape, cut out and popped up and coated with some Frosted Lace Stickles.  They are from the Chicken Girl set Hugs From A Bug.

Finally the greeting is from Very Square Sentiments, also stamped in Palette.  I am thrilled to say that we recently sold out of our first pressing (in just 6 weeks!) of these stamps and I’ve got more coming – probably towards the end of next week.  Just click the restock notify link on the page and you’ll get an email as soon as they’re back in stock!

Be sure to check the sale page on the store.  I’ve marked down almost 800 items, included nearly my entire stamp offerings and 12x12 papers.  I’m adding more every day to help make room for CHA purchases next month but don’t delay – most of these items will not be restocked once they’re gone!

I’ll see you again soon!  Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend (for my US readers!).
