DT Day: Lori

Hi, IHP fans!  It's Lori with a simple and sweet project using stamps from Technique Tuesday.  This easy to make treat holder would have been perfect for Valentine's Day earlier this month, so you might want to tuck this idea away (or pin it!) for next year.

The base of the treat holder is a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" red cardstock, scored 2 1/4" from each end of the 5 1/2" side.  This makes three sections that you'll fold to form a triangle shape.  I stamped the "hugs and kisses" sentiment from the Say It- Hugs stamp set in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (my absolute favorite ink for stamping sentiments!) on what will be the front section. Four Hershey's Kisses fit perfectly in a single line along the middle section between the two scored lines.  I used a bit of adhesive to hold them securely in place, then folded the scored cardstock to form the treat holder.

To hold the treat holder closed, I cut a 2" by 4 1/4"strip of patterned paper from Echo Park's Head Over Heels paper pad.  I scored the cardstock at 1", then folded it to make a topper that will hide the open end of the treat holder.  To dress it up a bit, I added some white mini pom pom trim along the bottom edge before adding it to the treat holder.  I wrapped it with some black twine and finished it off with a matching red button.

DT Day: Lindsay

Hello i {heart} papers fans!  Lindsay here with you to share a fun little card I made using a few great products from the store.  Let's take a look, shall we?
I started with the fun new background set from Wplus9, called Borders and Backgrounds 3, stamping it repeatedly on my card base with Versamark Ink.  I then heat set it with white powder, and covered the card front with blue inks, in a gradient, to look like the sky.
I then took the Paper Smooches set, Party Posse, and fussy cut my colored sheep.  Isn't he cute?!  I popped him up onto my card base, and added a strip of black cardstock, heat embossed in white with part of the sentiment.  As a last addition, I die cut "Happy" from the Paper Smooches die set, Birthday Words out of white cardstock and adhered it.  After rounding the corners, I added Glossy Accents to the eyes.
Thank you for joining me today!  Be sure to stop on over to the store to see all of the brand new goodies that are there!  Fun!

DT Day: Sarah

Hello i {heart} papers fans! Sarah here today sharing a card with LOTS of new goodies available now in the store!

Have you seen the new Technique Tuesday stuff in store? For this card I paired the Geotag Die with the Favorite Geotags Stamp set. I embossed the geotag with one of the Woven folders. That cool layer underneath is the new Cool Tab Card die - designed for pocket scrapbooking, I love it as a layer on a card! I've backed it with vellum.

The papers I've used are from the Fresh Cut pad by Basic Grey - LOVE!

That blue ink is Teal Zeal Memento Luxe, my new fave! I smooshed some onto a clear block and picked it up with a waterbrush for the splatter effect.

Another new fave is this Neon Pink Hemp Thread, lighter than twine, you can do so much with it! Of course I had to finish off with some Hot Pink Sequins!

Thanks for visiting today - now run and shop! As I type this, there is only one each of the geotag die, thread and sequins left in stock :-)

DT Day: Lori

Hi, everyone!  It's Lori with a fun friendship themed project using stamps and dies from Paper Smooches.

I die cut the word "hello" from the Hello Words die set twice--once in bright pink paper and again in gray paper.  The two die cut word are attached to the pale pink card base so that they're slightly offset and the gray beneath the pink creates a shadow-like effect.  I stamped the word "friend" from the Paper Smooches Chit Chat set beneath the die cut word in Memento Luxe Rose Bud ink.  If you haven't tried these inks yet, definitely check them out.  They're my favorite for sentiments and solid stamps.

I scattered a few pink sequins around the words for a little sparkle.  The card is topped with a piece of white paper doily and a long, narrow fishtail flag strip.  I added a button tied with some pretty pink baker's twine to finish it off.

Guest DT Day: Suzanne

Suzanne is here today with a card for i {heart} papers - I will be their guest through the end of the month, and am having so much fun. I started this one with Crate Paper's 6x6 patterned paper pack from The Pier collection. I stamped the background sheet using hearts from Paper Smooches' Sweet Hearts stamp set using Memento Luxe ink in toffee crunch. Next I trimmed a piece of floral paper and diecut it with the Paper Smooches Borders 2 die...I kept layering all of the bits and pieces (stickers and embellishments from this Crate Paper collection) and added the gold glitter heart, which was cut using the Paper Smooches Hearts Dies. Hope your day is happy! Thanks for stopping by!

DT Day: Tracy

Oh boy do I have a fun little card for you today! I paired up these fun Icon Fill in the Blank dies from Avery Elle with a sentiment from WPlus9.

My inspiration came from this week's Retro Sketch and the scraps of decorative paper I used here. I just layered my paper flags, then my sentiment panel, and added the balloons with twine. Tied the twine strings together with a little bow and finished my card off!

DT Day: Vera

Hi everyone. Vera here today to share my i {heart} papers project.

For my project today, I played with a couple of my favorite sets from Wplus9, the Fresh Cut Floral and Fanciful Feathers. I just love the versatility of these two sets. Usually, I tend to stick to a safe, fail proof color combo. This time, I should be brave and try out unusual color combo.

Here's what I came up with:

Having the Fresh Cut Floral matching die and Fanciful Feathers die really help in making this card in a jiffy. Honestly, I actually not sure how I feel about the color combo. I think whenever you step out of your comfort zone and trying something new,  you often end up questioning the result, because it's not something you're used to.

What about you? Do you have a go to color combo or do you like to try out new color combo?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy today's card. New Wplus9 sets are coming out in a few days. Make sure you check out i {heart} papers store so you can get all the new goodies in your hand. Have a fabulous day, peep.

Welcome Chaitali!

It's the first of the month and as always we're welcoming a new guest designer to join us and share inspiration for the next two months!  This time around we're welcoming Chaitali Narla and we're so excited to see what she shows us for the next few months!  Here's what she had to say:

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be here. I live in Seattle with my loving husband. By day I am a Software Engineer but by night and weekends I love to spend time in my craft room getting inky! I have been crafting for as long as I can remember but have been blogging about it for 3 years now. I enjoy dabbling in many different techniques and you will find me doing a variety of crafts on my blog. Thanks Kate for having me at i {heart} papers as a guest!

And here's is her first project for IHP and her write-up about it!

Hey everyone!
Some big news today! I am the Feb/March guest designer for i {heart} papers! So excited to join in and create for them!
For my first project I have a card with the Paper Smooches Party Posse set.  I make a lot of group cards for many occasions in office when many people sign a single card. But a normal A2 card doesn’t really give enough space for everyone to sign! And of course it completely takes away my chance to decorate on the inside of the card!  So today’s card shows how I solved that problem :)

Here is the front side of the card…

The twine can be pulled open to reveal a folded flap for messages! Easy no-mess way to sign a card :)
I also have a video for you on how I made the card! All supplies are linked below.

Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by!
