DT Day: Lori

Hi, IHP fans!  It's Lori here today featuring a fun card featuring stamps from Technique Tuesday.  The fan image in the Fan-tastic stamp set is perfect for summery designs!

I used the fan as the focal image on this encouraging design.  I stamped the fan image twice on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  One of the images was cut out and adhered to a light blue panel.  Just the top part of the second image was cut out.  I used an Action Wobble spring to attach it to the first image.  If you haven't tried one of these springs to add an interactive element to a project, you really should--they're too fun!  A light tap makes it look like the fan's in motion.  I put a big black enamel dot on the center of the fan for even more dimension and detail.

I stamped the set's "I am your no. 1 fan!" sentiment next to the fan in red pigment ink, then added a simple pennant made from folded patterned paper circles and twine across the top left corner of the panel. After matting it with contrasting red cardstock, I adhered the panel to a kraft card base.

Thanks for stopping by today! And don't forget, the sale is still ongoing!

DT Day: Sarah

Hi IHP fans! Sarah here today with a fun and funky masculine card! I know you've just had Father's Day in North America (it's not till September here in NZ!) so I wanted to show you another use for a set you may have used for Father's Day this year.

I've used the amazing Wplus9 Epic Dad stamp set. I stamped in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black and Pear Tart and cut with the matching dies. The patterned paper is from Favorite Things and I stamped my own background using the Just Geometrics Triangles set in Teal Zeal Memento Luxe.

The little crown from the Epic Dad dies was cut from gold foil cardstock.

On a vellum banner, I stamped part of a sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 1. I've embellished with a star from the Necessities Metallic Shapes pack. This is my husband's birthday card for later in the month!

Here's a peek inside the card...

I think this is a must have set for the epic Dad in your life! I love the bold graffiti look this set gives, and highly recommend the Memento Luxe inks for a perfect finish!

DT Day: Lindsay

Hello!  Lindsay with you today, to share a simple card using fun products from the i {heart} papers store!  I have been a long time fan of Lawn Fawn, and I am so happy when the store gets the latest releases in.  I have used one of those sets, Love You S'More, on my card today.  There are so many adorable images in this stamp set, it was hard to chose which one to play with first!
To start, I took the fun Scripty Thanks die (also new), and cut it onto a white panel.  I then backed the negative space with a bit of gingham patterned paper from the Pebbles Garden Party 6x6 paper pad (one of my favs) and rounded the corners.  I adhered a piece of yellow patterned paper from the same pad, to a card base, and affixed the panel onto it with foam.
Taking the cute little bird from the Love You S'More set, I colored it with Copic markers, and then cut it out using the matching dies, before popping him up with foam on top of the "a."  As a finishing touch, I added some lovely enamel dots.  Cuteness overload, I tell ya! Thanks so much for joining me today!  I hope you were inspired to get to your crafty space and stamp!  Also, be sure to stop by the i {heart} papers store and check out the new Lawn Fawn release.

Hi there, it's Tracy sharing a fun, unisex card with you today. I was inspired by CAS(e) this Sketch #78. I color-blocked three panels on the right of my card to make everything pop, but kept the rest really simple.

My sentiment is from Avery Elle's Handwritten Notes set. Isn't it sweet? I added a couple enamel stickers to finish my card off. And now it's ready to stick in an envelope! Simply the Best Recipe Cardstock: MFT sweet tooth; PTI orange zest, summer sunrise, lemon tart Stamps: Avery Elle Handwritten Notes Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Hero Arts Orange Soda Accessories: Doodlebug Birthday Girl Sprinkles enamel stickers; dimensional dots

DT Day: Gayatri

Happy Birthday Card.

Hello dear cardmakers, It is Gayatri again for you. This is my second month of guest designing for i {heart} papers. I am having lots of fun sharing with you my projects. Hope you are getting inspired with my projects. Today, I have a clean and simple birthday card.

I have trimmed the golden striped pattern paper from My Mind's Eye Charmed collection 6 x 6 pattern paper pad to the size of the card front and adhered on to the card front. I then die cut the large Polaroid frame from the Polaroid dies from My Favorite Things using black card stock. For the background, I simply painted some Evergreen Bough distress ink on some scrap cardstock and when dry adhered it to the back of the polaroid frame. I then die cut the large oval balloon from the Party Balloon Die also from My Favorite Things. I heat embossed some gold Zing embossing powder on the balloon randomly, tied the black and white baker's twine to it and adhered using foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Celebrate Big stamp set also from My Favorite Things. I have mounted this using foam adhesive as well. I finally embellished with sequins from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine mix.
It is a simple card but the gold, black and mint colour combination creates a big impact. You can find all the products I have used on my project from i {heart} papers shop.
Thanks for visiting and you can visit my blog every Friday this month to see my projects for i {heart} papers as guest designer.

DT Day: Vera

Hi everyone. Vera here. Sigh.... Can you  believe it's already June? Time sure fly, don't they?

Anyway, this past weekend as I was looking at my pile of stuff, I realize that I have quite a bit of 6x6 paper pad that just sit there on the shelve. Yes, I love paper pad. Pretty papers make me happy. But, I do feel guilty when they just sit there. So, with that in mind I decided that I need to make a card using those papers and here's what I came up with.

I am patting myself on the back as I managed to use patterned paper from 4 different paper pads on this card. The background paper is from  Pink Paislee Pen Pals pad. The camera from Jillibean Sightseeing Stew pad, the Hello bingo card is from Simple Stories Say Cheese and the orange border is from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods petite paper pack. The super cute hamster (I love this guy) is from Paper Smooches Party Posse set.

Layering patterned paper is not  my strongest suit, but I am quite please with the way this card turn out. I sure d need to play with those papers more. :)

Thank you all for stopping by here and don't forget to check the store. New goodies are coming this week!

Guest DT: Melissa Chipperfield

Today we welcome a new guest designer to IHP.  Please give a warm IHP welcome to Melissa Chipperfield!  Here's her first project and post for us.

Hello, everyone!  I'm so excited to be guest designing here at i {heart} papers!  Thank you to Kate for this opportunity!  I'm Melissa Chipperfield from Oh, Smudge!  Some of you may also know me from CASology, a clean & simple challenge blog I created back in the summer of 2012.  As you'll soon see, clean & simple card design is my style of choice.  I am a dental hygienist by trade, but am currently a SAHM to four with a wonderful DH of 15 years. I love spending time in the great outdoors with my family.  Next to card making, photography is a big passion of mine and you can find examples of my work both on my creative blog as well as over at Pixel Moments Photography. When all is quiet in the house, I usually find myself in my craft room with inky fingers!

Today, I thought I'd share a card I made using a few of the oh-so-cute Lawn Fawn stamps and accessories.  Ready for summer and all its happiness, I was inspired to make a bright, cheerful card to kick off my guest designer term!

I die cut the little frame using the Lawn Fawn #awesome dies.

#awesome dies (lawn cuts)

The frame was glued directly to the card base.  I kept the middle piece of the frame and stamped a bright yellow sun image from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine stamp set in the middle of it.  I then adhered the stamped panel over the outer portion of the die cut frame with foam dots & stamped the sentiment & three cloud images with Memento Ink's (Tuxedo Black) (my favorite black ink these days). The clouds were fussy cut before being popped up over and around the sun.
Hello Sunshine
The little red heart is from Lawn Fawn's #awesome stamp set, which coordinates with the die I used.

To add a finishing touch, I adhered a trio of three yellow flower sequins from Lawn Fawn's mixed sequins to the design.  Since clean & simple is my card style, I left it at that!
