DT Challenge: Inspired By A Story

This month’s DT Challenge was a tough one! Deb challenged us to base our project on a story so I picked one of my all-time favorite movies, The Sound of Music. I’m sure you’ve all seen it but it is a fantastic love story and full of amazing music. So, for my project I made a card, inspired by one of the most famous scenes – the one where Julie Andrews makes clothes from the curtains in her room. The music curtains pattern on the curtains reminded me of one of the patterns in Echo Park’s Be Mine paper. I created little curtains, added some pom-pom trim for the header and tethered them with some 1/4” ivory silk. I mounted them on another piece of Be Mine paper and had a musical love greeting from Singing Souls, stamped in Palette Charcoal, peeking through the “window".

Then, because I was baking Valentine’s Day cookies, I made a coordinating heart tin to go with the card.

I used more Be Mine paper (the sheet music) and more pom-pom trim to make my heart box all fancy. :) Here they are together. I hope you like my story based project and that you’ll go and hop along to the rest of the DT blogs. Here they are for you:
