DT Day: Lori

Hi, IHP fans!  It's Lori with a simple and sweet project using stamps from Technique Tuesday.  This easy to make treat holder would have been perfect for Valentine's Day earlier this month, so you might want to tuck this idea away (or pin it!) for next year.

The base of the treat holder is a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" red cardstock, scored 2 1/4" from each end of the 5 1/2" side.  This makes three sections that you'll fold to form a triangle shape.  I stamped the "hugs and kisses" sentiment from the Say It- Hugs stamp set in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (my absolute favorite ink for stamping sentiments!) on what will be the front section. Four Hershey's Kisses fit perfectly in a single line along the middle section between the two scored lines.  I used a bit of adhesive to hold them securely in place, then folded the scored cardstock to form the treat holder.

To hold the treat holder closed, I cut a 2" by 4 1/4"strip of patterned paper from Echo Park's Head Over Heels paper pad.  I scored the cardstock at 1", then folded it to make a topper that will hide the open end of the treat holder.  To dress it up a bit, I added some white mini pom pom trim along the bottom edge before adding it to the treat holder.  I wrapped it with some black twine and finished it off with a matching red button.
